National Silver Medalist, Kellie Stuard — we like the sound of that!

Claremore High School is celebrating a major national achievement as student artist Kellie Stuard has been named a National Silver Medalist in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, one of the most prestigious honors for creative students in the United States.

Stuard first earned a Gold Key at the state level, advancing her work to national adjudication. From there, her piece Eyes Don’t Lie rose above thousands of submissions, ultimately standing out among more than 300,000 entries submitted nationwide.

A Powerful Message Through Art

Stuard’s award-winning piece, Eyes Don’t Lie, explores themes of deceit, emotional honesty, and the weight of hidden truth. Through expressive visual storytelling, the work captures the complexity of human emotion, particularly how feelings can surface even when words do not.

Her artwork demonstrates both strong technical skill and a clear artistic voice, blending composition and emotion in a way that resonates deeply with viewers. The piece invites audiences to reflect on how truth is perceived and how emotional expression can reveal what is often left unsaid.

From State Recognition to National Honor

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is one of the nation’s longest-running and most competitive recognition programs for creative teens. Each year, students across the country submit hundreds of thousands of works in hopes of earning regional and national honors.

Earning a Gold Key at the state level placed Stuard among the top student artists in her region. Advancing to national recognition and receiving a Silver Medal places her among an elite group of young artists whose work has been recognized for excellence on a national stage.

A Win for the Arts and Claremore Public Schools

Stuard’s accomplishment represents more than an individual success, it is also a celebration for Claremore High School’s fine arts program and Claremore Public Schools as a whole. Her achievement highlights the strength of student creativity and the importance of arts education in fostering expression, confidence, and skill development.

Educators and supporters across the district are recognizing the impact of guidance, encouragement, and dedication that help students reach this level of success.

Looking Ahead

While this national honor marks a significant milestone, it is clear that Stuard’s artistic journey is just beginning. Her work has already made an impression on a national audience, and her continued growth as an artist promises even greater accomplishments ahead.

Claremore Public Schools is incredibly proud of Kellie and the example she sets for fellow students, proving that creativity, passion, and persistence can take young artists far beyond the classroom.
