Four talented Claremore High School students will spend their summer immersed in one of the most prestigious arts programs in the state after being selected to attend the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain.
This highly competitive, two-week residential academy is designed for Oklahoma’s most advanced high school artists. Admission is not simply applied for — it is earned through demonstrated talent, dedication, and artistic excellence.
This year, CHS students Paige Brower (12th grade), Crow Bratt (12th grade), Shayne Schornick (11th grade), and Izabella Contino (11th grade) have each been selected to participate. Even more impressively, all four students received full-ride scholarships to attend.
The Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain brings together more than 230 of the state’s top student artists for an intensive creative experience unlike any other. During the program, students train in their chosen disciplines, including visual arts, music, theater, dance, and creative writing, while working closely with professional, award-winning instructors.
The environment is designed to challenge students artistically while helping them grow in both skill and confidence. Days are filled with hands-on studio work, collaborative learning, and mentorship from established artists who help guide the next generation of creatives.
For Brower, Bratt, Schornick, and Contino, this selection represents more than a summer program. It is recognition of their hard work and a milestone in their artistic journeys. Their acceptance into such a selective institute highlights not only individual talent, but also the strength of Claremore High School’s fine arts program.
Claremore Public Schools continues to celebrate the success of its student artists, whose accomplishments reflect both their personal dedication and the support of educators who encourage creative growth.
Being chosen for Quartz Mountain places these students among Oklahoma’s most promising young artists — a distinction that speaks volumes about their potential and passion.
As these students prepare for an immersive summer of artistic development, the excitement continues to build across the CHS community. Experiences like this often serve as turning points, shaping future careers and lifelong creative pursuits.
Claremore High School proudly congratulates Paige Brower, Crow Bratt, Shayne Schornick, and Izabella Contino. Their talent, dedication, and hard work have earned them this incredible opportunity — and this is only the beginning of what they will accomplish.
