CLAREMORE, OK — Claremore Public School is proud to announce that recent graduate Blake Clark has been named the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA) 2026 Aerospace Student of the Year, one of the state's highest honors for student achievement in aviation and aerospace education.
Clark's passion for aviation began during his first year in Claremore High School's AOPA aviation program. Drawn to anything with wings, wheels, and an engine, he quickly immersed himself in aerospace studies and expanded his knowledge through both classroom instruction and hands-on experiences.
Through Claremore's Navy JROTC program, Clark earned his FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification, allowing him to operate unmanned aircraft systems commercially. His interest in aviation was matched by a commitment to leadership and service throughout his high school career.
Clark served in numerous leadership roles within Claremore Navy JROTC and participated in several prestigious leadership development programs, including the University of Oklahoma High School Leadership Program, Tommy Franks Four-Star Leadership Camp, Oklahoma Boys State, Rogers County Sheriff's Camp, and the Claremore Police Department Youth Camp.
Following graduation, Clark began his service to the nation by joining the United States Marine Corps, where he will train as an aircraft mechanic. He plans to combine his military training with his passion for aviation to pursue a career supporting and maintaining aircraft.
"Aviation is where precision, discipline, and passion come together, and it's the path I'm proud to pursue," Clark said.
Claremore Public Schools celebrates Blake's achievements and recognizes the dedication, leadership, and perseverance that led to this honor. His accomplishments serve as an example of how students can transform their interests into meaningful career pathways through education, service, and hard work.
Congratulations, Blake Clark, on being named the ODAA 2026 Aerospace Student of the Year. The Claremore community is proud of your accomplishments and grateful for your commitment to serving our country.
