Claremore High School Among Top 90 across the state - 2022 College Success Award from GreatSchools

Claremore High School (CHS) was one of 90 across the state to recently receive the 2022 College Success Award from GreatSchools. The award is an annual recognition that salutes public high schools that excel at preparing students for enrollment – and success – at college. Claremore was one of 1,742 from across the nation to receive the award this year, data showed. 

“Despite the many challenges brought forth by the COVID-19 pandemic, these schools have continued to uphold many best practices to support their students’ college preparation and success – they are doing the important work of preparing students who choose to attend college for rigorous post-secondary pursuits,” Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister said. “This is an important component to building a strong economy for the future.”

“It’s inspiring to see how entire school communities – students, teachers and families – can work together in pursuit of a common goal: success for all,” GreatSchools CEO Jon Deane said in a release. “Congratulations to these 90 schools for receiving the College Success Award as proof of their hard work and dedication.”

“I am incredibly proud of the education that Claremore Public Schools provides to our students. This recognition is a product of the investment of our teachers, paraprofessionals, counselors, and many others that work for the betterment of our students. Claremore High School is able to offer many rigorous career pathways, some of which include: Biomedical Sciences, Digital Video Editing, Vocational Agriculture, Robotics, and Graphic Design. In addition, we have over 50 student organizations that are led by our students, giving them many opportunities for leadership and service. Claremore High School has several initiatives including a required College & Career preparation class for all juniors, the NHS College Connection Workshops, and the Gear Up Grant which includes events like  College App Week, College Signing Day, Virtual Informational Meetings, college campus tours, funding for concurrent classes and college orientation programs, on-site Gear Up Education Coordinator, School Specialist and College Coach. 

In addition, Niche has also named CPS of the best schools in the Tulsa Area - Top 5 in Tulsa Area and 38 in OK.  “Claremore Public Schools is a highly rated public school district located in Claremore, OK. It has a little over 3,600 students in grades PK-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 15 to 1.” (Niche.com)
