Let’s welcome Mrs. Kendra Cagle to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature!🦓❤ Mrs. Cagle is a Claremore High School collaborative lab teacher! This is her first year at CPS! She graduated from Rogers State University with her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Art from Liberty University. When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “I love that Claremore is a big school district with a small family feel. No campus is an island, and everyone is willing to reach out and be there for each other.” She chose to teach because “I want to be an encouraging and positive presence in kids' lives. Everyone learns differently, and some kids may struggle with that. I want to be one of the people who remind them every day that they have immense potential and helps them reach it.” Claremore was an easy choice for Mrs. Cagle, “our son has been a Zebra since he was 3, and we have experienced so much love and support from the school system. I wanted to be a part of that.” Mrs. Cagle and her husband, Rick, have a son who also attends CPS. She loves reading and traveling! Claremore Public Schools continues its commitment to leadership development by participating in the Leadership Rogers County (LRC) program. The LRC program provides a valuable opportunity for community members to grow as leaders within the educational system and the community. For the education aspect of this program, last year's CPS participants, Kellye Schuck and Darren Grisham, had the privilege of hosting this year's members at their sites, Catalayah Elementary and Claremore High School. The LRC members got a firsthand experience to engage in the many opportunities CPS has to offer and see what being a Zebra is all about. This year, two CPS administrators were accepted in this year's LRC Class, Mrs. Mary Bopp and Mrs. Chrissy Willard. Let’s welcome Mrs. Kassy Sublett back to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature!🦓❤📚 Mrs. Kassy Sublett is a 6th-grade social studies teacher at Will Rogers Junior High. She graduated from Claremore High School in 2004 and chose to return to her roots to start her teaching career! She graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelors of science in psychology. When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “I graduated from CHS, and it still feels like home. I am thrilled to teach here in Claremore now.” She chose to teach because “I love children, and I believe they deserve the very best educational experience.” Mrs. Sublett enjoys reading and spending time with her family! A fun fact about her is that she has been a military wife for 18 years and has lived in OK, KS, CA, AK, and D.C. Cooking with Classen!🧈🍞 Westie students in Mrs. Classen’s class are learning all about the farm. These lucky students then got to make their very own butter from scratch! WOW! 🧈🍞 The kids shook the cream in the jar until it turned to butter which they added to their fresh baked bread. Talk about Farm to Table…so fun & so yum! ❤️🦓🙌🏽 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

At Catalayah, Mrs. Newman's Kindergarteners had a beary exciting week! They learned all about different kinds of bears and their habitats! To end the week, students brought their own furry friends from home to finish the lesson. They had a paw-some time with their fuzzy friends and enjoyed learning about all things bear, real and stuffed!🐻🧸💓 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

What's cooking? Well in Mrs. Boyd's Science class, SMORES! They created solar ovens by using all types of boxes- pizza, shoes, candy, or anything else they could find. They used aluminum inside where the s'more went into the "sun-over" to cook. Tasty and educational!🍫☀🔥 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
