Late in June, educators from across Rogers County, including @Claremore Public Schools, joined CIEDA for its second annual Encounter Teacher Experience. This hands-on event strives to provide a foundation for educators to motivate students to develop and maintain career pathways and provide relevance and rigor to STEM education, training, and workforce development. The future of our workforce can be found in the classroom. Thank our teaching partners for joining us and for their collaboration in exposing students to our region's quality career pathways, subsequently changing the misunderstandings surrounding this vital economic sector.
CPS teachers who attended: Kesley Perry, Melissa Worley, Amanda Simpson, and David Isenbart.
Ms. Simpson said attending this PD will motivate her to encourage her students to be more curious. During her teamwork lessons, she will emphasize the process of their work and not just the finished product. "I did not realize the endless career opportunities that lie within Claremore's manufacturing industry. How s student can be career-bound and earn some of the highest state-wide industrial wages right here in Claremore, OK," Simpson added.
A big thank you to the participating business and industry partners for their role in making this year's event a success! - Northeast Tech - Rye Design LLC - Pryer Aerospace - MST Manufacturing.
