🦓❤️🎓 COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION — 14 days brought to you by the Freemans!
Mrs. Jenny Freeman is a 3rd-grade teacher at Claremont Elementary, where she has been for 7 years. When reflecting on Kennedy’s school years, she recalls, “I will never forget Kennedy's fifth-grade talent competition at Westside Elementary. She and a group of the Westies had the BEST time 'practicing' for the show. The 'practices' always ended up being a lot more playing than practicing, but the show was a hoot to watch, and the kids made lasting memories!”
Kennedy acknowledges her Pre-K teacher, saying, “Mrs. McCorkle was so loving and encouraging to me at a young age. She made me excited to come to school every day, and I still remember her kindness.”
A Zebra since Kindergarten, Kennedy attended Westside Elementary, Will Rogers Junior High, and Claremore High School. She is a member of the soccer team and is also involved in Biomed Club and FUZE.
When asked what she will remember most about her experience at CPS, Kennedy said, “I will remember the helpful and kind environment I grew up in. I have made great friends and memories I’ll have for the rest of my life.”
It has been a fun and unforgettable 13 years for Kennedy as a proud Zebra!

🦓❤️🎓 COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION — 15 Days brought to you by the Bacons!
Mrs. Stacye Bacon has been a teacher at Will Rogers Junior High for 8 years. When reflecting on KeeKee’s school years, she recalls how, “A very fond memory I have is when KeeKee was in 8th grade. She had just started wrestling and went to Junior High State. Two of her coaches were Coach Weber and Coach Selmon. After winning two matches and staying on the champion side of the bracket, she lost the next match and was so upset. I remember Weber working to get her refocused, and then Selmon had a long talk with her. I’ll never forget Selmon patting her head, telling her to fix her hair, get her act together, and go out there to bring home that third-place trophy. She did!”
KeeKee acknowledges Mrs. McQueen, her 5th-grade teacher at Catalayah Elementary, for the lasting impact she made: “Mrs. McQueen—what a sweet soul. She has such a tender heart and was so consistent. KeeKee related really well to her, and she was a wonderful teacher.”
A Zebra since Pre-K, KeeKee attended Catalayah Elementary, Will Rogers Junior High, and Claremore High School. She has been involved in wrestling, soccer, World Language Club, and Young Republicans. A special memory she shared about her time at CPS was, “Definitely the relationships I’ve formed while attending CPS. On the surface, there’s nothing special about Claremore—it’s the people who live here. The teachers have shown me how much they care and how far I can go, my coaches have taught me how to be a good person and keep pushing forward, my friends have made every day a good day, and my family has raised me into someone I am proud to be. I will never forget the people here in Claremore.”
It has been a fun and unforgettable 13 years for KeeKee as a proud Zebra!

🌪️ When Curiosity Sparks Creativity at Catalayah! 🌪️
At the Catalayah STEM Club, student-led learning took center stage! One student’s interest in tornadoes turned into a whirlwind of discovery for the whole group. 💡
We kicked things off with a National Geographic Kids video to explore tornadoes and the clouds that signal severe weather. Then, it was time to get hands-on...
🛠️ Tornado Shelter Design Challenge!
Students put their engineering hats on to design their own tornado shelters, asking important real-world questions like:
🏠 Should it be above ground or underground?
📍 Where’s the safest place to build it?
From weather science to critical thinking and problem-solving, our students were all in learning, designing, and having a blast along the way! 🚀
