Ms. Golbek's Environmental Science class brought learning to life with a creative, hands-on project! 🍂 Students explored the campus, collecting fallen leaves to study their structure and identify species. After diving into lessons on plants, water cycles, and seasonal changes, they took it a step further—transforming their knowledge into wearable art! They created unique clothing pieces using leaf impressions, combining science with sustainability. Roosa Elementary 3rd Grade classes brought the tradition of Corn Husk Dolls to life by creating their own, blending creativity with cultural learning.❤🌾 The Native American legend of the corn husk doll tells of the Creator shaping the beauty of the Earth, including the plants, animals, and the Three Sisters—the sustainers of life: corn, squash, and beans. Among them, the Corn Husk was revered, and Native Americans crafted faceless corn husk dolls as a reminder to remain humble and never think oneself superior to others. As we approach Thanksgiving and share what we are thankful for, our Claremore Zebra Baseball team has taken the opportunity to show extra appreciation! The team wrote thank-you letters to military members and their teachers. They wanted to acknowledge the dedication, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment of these special figures in their lives. Congratulations to Emma Robinson on being named All-State for Girls Cross Country!💪🏽🦓 Emma Robinson’s outstanding performance at the State 5A Cross Country Meet earned her second place out of an impressive field of 110 runners, further securing her spot as an All-State athlete. This achievement places her among the top ten runners in her class statewide—a prestigious honor in Oklahoma high school cross country. Emma's remarkable season also ranked her as the 10th-best 5K cross-country runner across all classifications in the state. She becomes the fourth All-State cross-country runner in Claremore High School history, way to go, Emma!💪🏽🏅 #cpszebrarpide

At Westside Elementary, our third graders have been diving deep into Native American history, exploring the rich traditions and cultures of various tribes through hands-on projects and research. 🌟 Ms. Palmer brought history to life this week with an incredible presentation for the entire third-grade wing. Drawing from her own Native American heritage, she shared her knowledge through captivating stories, traditional dances, and a display of cultural clothing. She also explained the significance of each dance and the expectations within Native American traditions, offering our students a meaningful and authentic learning experience. 🦓❤️ #CPSZebraPride

Claremore Zebra Volleyball Season Highlights🏐💪🏽 Our Lady Zebras had an outstanding 2024 season, finishing with a 28-8 record and remaining undefeated in conference play for the second consecutive year. Here are just a few highlights from this standout season; 🏐Season Record: Finished 28-8 overall. Conference Play: Undefeated for the second consecutive year. 🏐Tournament Success: Claremore Crossover Tournament Champions. Carl Albert Tournament Runner-Up. Regional Champions: Secured the title 6 out of the last 8 years. 🏐Individual Honors: Coach Derek Jackson: Named Conference Coach of the Year for the second year. Ella Ramey: Named Conference MVP & All-State Roster. At Catalayah Elementary, Mr. Winiecke’s music classes have been diving into the world of the xylophone! Did you know this percussion instrument has roots dating back to ancient Africa and Asia? Its name comes from the Greek words “xylon” (wood) and “phone” (sound), meaning “wood sound”. Xylophones are not just fun to play—they help develop rhythm, coordination, and math skills as students explore patterns and pitches. Our little musicians are learning how to make this timeless instrument come to life! 🎵👏 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Every year, the RSU Baseball team, known as the Hillcat Homies, brings their energy and support to Roosa Elementary! From reading and math help to playing games and sharing laughs, they make the day unforgettable. Students even had the chance to enjoy lunch together and collect some awesome autographs!
