It's FLAG DAY. Here are our new flags and poles at Claremore High School made possible with the #ZebraBond2019. We'd love to see your flags flying. Post a pic in the comments. It is the day, 244 years ago, when Congress commemorated Betsy Ross' creation of the Stars & Stripes as our national flag. The flag has looked different throughout those years, of course, 27 variations, actually, as America grew through the colonies to the 50 states represented in the white stars today. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Today's entry in our #ZebraTravelDiaries is Tyler Osgood, an incoming freshman who spent the week on Lake Rabun in Northeast Georgia. He is a part of the Claremore baseball program and is looking forward to returning to the Zebra's baseball diamond for summer ball and many more years. Maddox Thomas may have played her last game in her Zebra uniform this past weekend in the East/West All-State Games, but it was not the final game of her career. Maddox will continue her athletic and academic career at the University of Nebraska, Omaha - a D1 program, this fall. Show those Omaha Mavericks some #CPSZEBRAPRIDE!

Mr. Drew Cumming, a CHS history teacher, led eight CHS students on an educational travel tour to Washington DC this summer. For most, students have flashbacks of class discussions and pages and pages of assigned reading in their textbooks—but there's nothing like seeing and touching U.S. history firsthand, like reliving significant historical times that shaped the world they live in today. There is no better way to connect the words on the pages of their textbooks than to experience the people, places, and culture for themselves. Who knows, this trip may inspire them to become key players in American history themselves. 🏈🎥 Little Zebra Football Camp Highlight Video - https://youtu.be/AyU_58KwSjw Over 140 1st - 6th graders were building skills, a love of the sport, and the Zebra legacy on historic Lantow Field this week. Players participated in non-contact drills, made friends, and made memories they will carry with them through high school when they complete their final walk across a stage on that very same field. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🏐 CAMP GOALS 1 - every kid getS a LITTLE better at volleyball, and 2 - every kids has A LOT of fun! Clearly it was a success on all fronts. Today's entry in our #ZebraTravelDiaries is Ahriana (going to 6th grade) and Drake Rodriguez (going to 4th at Catalayah). Every Memorial Day weekend, their family attends the Delaware Indian Powwow in Copan, OK, where they camp for five days and participate in numerous activities that are a part of their family's Native American culture. Reagan Smith and Emma Kelley were selected for the All-State Soccer roster. They will again represent our Zebras on the "East" team on June 10. The girls' games will begin at 6pm. Miss Bart, a Roosa teacher, Mrs. Bart, and Mrs. Naegele, WRJH teachers, spent a Saturday at the Oklahoma Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference (OCTM) in Norman. A sign of a good teacher is one who continues on the path to learning more about their subject area and strategies for instruction. A growth mindset is a characteristic highly valued by CPS. Melynee Naegele was one of the presenters and Kaylee Bart receive the Oklahoma Promising New Teacher of Mathematics Award from OCTM. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

CPS teachers took part in the OK Donors Choose Grant process earlier this year. Thirty-four teachers at CPS received funding for their proposals, equaling almost $34K in grants. Mrs. Kropp, Roosa 5th-grade teacher, received 10 "surfboard" desks. It's no surprise that physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior. Mrs. Kropp knows there is no better way to show your support for a student-centered classroom than creating a classroom from a child's point of view. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Six Claremore High School Students continue their BioMed experience at Oklahoma State Operation Orange. Teresa Knapp, Nathan Brasel, Hope Mallory, Angela Rasor, Jenna Smalygo, and Michael Robertson spent a day immersed in the life of a medical student. Participating in hands-on demonstrations, studying human anatomy with heart, lungs, and brain, and performing simulated intubations were a few activities. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Students from the Native American after-school clubs at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels joined together on a field trip to the First Americans Museum in OKC. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

＄２，８７１，８２５．４０ That is the amount of scholarships the Class of 2022 reported receiving this year. Over the next few weeks, we will celebrate those who received scholarships from our CPS partners who have invested in the future of our students. Rotary Club of Claremore has continually poured into our community and its future leaders. Their annual scholarship is proof of their commitment to broadening the opportunities of our graduates and their post-secondary education. Six CPS seniors received $750 each from the Claremore Rotary, totaling a $4,500 investment. Recipients are Kaitlyn Lane, Caroline Cowherd, Wade Brasfield, Zette Erwin, Morgan Wiggs, and (not pictured) Molly Andrews. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

I mean, it's not like there are a ton of Zebra mascots around the world. Mrs. Ward ran into a 2012 Claremore grad while on the beach in FL. Chris Couse is a lifeguard in Rosemary Beach, and when he noticed her Zebra shirt, he made sure to come over and talk to her. Theodore Jack was born on June 2, 2022, weighing 7lbs 12oz and measuring 19". Mrs. Luginbill is an English teacher and the girls wrestling coach at Claremore High School. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Everett Koop This picture at the CHS graduation for the class of 2022 is an example of the legacy educators make in our community. Mr. Andy Hogan is a former principal of Claremont Elementary and Mrs. Fay's elementary principal when she was a student at Claremont! Mrs. Fay shared, "Graduation is a time of reflection, filled with pride and accomplishment, not only by the graduates and their families but also by every educator who has ever been a part of their development. It is a celebratory time for the entire village! Something we strive to do at Claremont is to make every single day count. We stay fervently focused on creating a solid, strong foundation, and then on this special day, we praise the hard work and accomplishments of those young adults who have become a part of our hearts forever." #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
