Elementary students: Please meet the bus at Moore & Dupont at 7:10 AM.

Mr. Jacobs is joining Claremore High School as a Social Studies Teacher. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University.
When asked why he chose this path, he shared, “I teach because I want to help students become the best version of themselves while also helping them understand those around them. The community and school district are very supportive. They go out of their way to make sure everyone has what they need and feel valued.”

Ms. Massie is joining Claremont Elementary as a Special Education Teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX, and a Master’s in Education from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX.
When asked why she chose this path, she shared, “I teach to celebrate abilities, not just disabilities. I like the strong sense of community and the opportunity to make a difference in a small town setting with familiar faces. I feel CPS values both academics and personal development for every student.”

In her free time, she enjoys walking her dogs, spending time with family, and having coffee with friends. She is a proud mom to a daughter at Texas A&M and a son at Oklahoma State University. Her family also includes two Australian shepherds (one of which is her son’s).
Her career highlights include serving as Lead Teacher in Special Education at her previous district, writing a small grant for her students to create and sell homemade soap, and leading volunteer projects such as working at local animal shelters, elementary campus clean-ups, and church service activities. She has also been nominated for Teacher of the Year three times.
Fun fact: Ms. Massie once went skydiving and enjoyed it so much she briefly considered becoming an instructor—until her priorities shifted after starting a family.

Mrs. Riedl is joining Claremore High School as a Graphic Design Teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kansas State University and brings a wealth of professional experience as a Graphic Designer, Creative Director, and Director of Communications.
When asked why she chose this path, she shared, “I have a passion for it, and love the students, and the school atmosphere is fun! CPS is a wonderful district that shows progress and continually seeks ways to improve. I like that.”

She is married to Cory Riedl, and together they have three children: Sidney (22), an Oklahoma State University graduate in Economics; Lylah (19), currently at OSU majoring in Plant Biology; and Brody (15), who will be attending CHS this year. Their family also includes two dogs, Sky (a border collie) and Rosco (a foxy jack).
Mrs. Riedl has a strong background in the arts. She has been involved in theatre both on stage and behind the scenes, sings and loves musicals, and competed in volleyball, basketball, cross country, track, and softball. She has also coached softball—a sport she still loves!
Her favorite quote is: “After all, tomorrow is another day!”

Mr. Schultz is joining Claremore High School as a 9th Grade English Teacher, Head 9th Grade Boys Basketball Coach, and Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. He earned his Bachelor’s in General Studies with minors in Business, English, and Humanities from Northeastern State University.
When asked why he chose this path, he shared, “I have a passion for helping students reach their goals and ‘control the controllable.’ As an extension of classroom responsibilities, I enjoy helping young adults realize that their opportunities are endless once they put forth effort to do their best. I am motivated to do my best each day at work, and I want to influence students to do the same in school. I love the community of Claremore. It’s where I’m raising my family. CPS has a high standard of excellence, and opportunities for growth are endless.”

He is married to Kaitlin Schultz, a kindergarten teacher and assistant varsity softball coach at Verdigris. Together, they are raising two stepsons, Noah and Jase.
Mr. Schultz played high school basketball at Inola, Pryor, Verdigris, and Tahlequah Sequoyah, later continuing his basketball career at a small NAIA college in Arkansas. His favorite quote is: “If you’re made of the right stuff, a hard fall will only result in a high bounce.”

Mrs. Reynolds is joining Westside as a Special Services Teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Cameron University and is currently working toward her M.Ed. in Special Education.
When asked why she chose this path, she shared, “I want students to fall in love with learning! When students love to learn, they can be unstoppable!! I struggled in school, so I want to give every student a helping hand to thrive and succeed. CPS is a family of strong educators who truly care about the students and helping them academically succeed!”

Yesterday, our CHS band students had the incredible opportunity to learn from members of the United States Air Force Band of the West! Students broke into instrument-specific masterclasses where they worked closely with professional musicians—diving into collaborative playing, expert demonstrations, and meaningful Q&A sessions. 🎺🥁🎷
The day wrapped up with a phenomenal evening concert at the Robson Performing Arts Center, performed before a packed and enthusiastic crowd. The music, energy, and inspiration were nothing short of amazing!
We are so grateful to the USAF Band of the West for sharing their time and talent with our students and community. ❤️

Captain Rutan is joining Claremore High School as an NJROTC Instructor. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He is married to Dr. Kathryn Rutan, and together they have six children. His family has a proud tradition of military service dating back to the Revolutionary War—including two of his own children. At home, they share their lives with two Great Danes, a border collie, and two cats
Rutan served as a Naval Officer – Engineering Duty Officer and has earned numerous military awards. He also has experience in youth and adult sports, including football, baseball, adult soccer leagues, and organized softball. His favorite quotes are: “It is what it is… but it will be what you make it.” and “If you don’t know where you are going, any path will get you there.”
