As we lose ourselves in the service of others we discover our own lives and our own happiness. – Dieter F. Uchtdorf NJROTC spent some time serving our school staff and students by spending time picking up trash at CHS and Claremont this past week. NJROTC is undoubtedly succeeding in building better humans through service. Thank you for serving and taking pride in our school. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Claremore Agriculture Education , tries to provide the most advanced tools for our students to be successful in whatever they choose. That also includes our metal fabrication classes. Earlier this year a grant was submitted for a state of the art virtual welding simulator. This simulator allows students to MIG, TIG or stick weld. It also simulates the 4 welding positions of flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead on numerous joint types. Students can choose from T joints, lap, butt, pipe on plate, pipe on pipe or beads on plate while incorporating different weave patterns. After completing the weld, it then gives them a numerical score and shows them exactly what they need to work on. A student can then step over to the actual welding booth to implement those minor changes to advance in their learning capability. This machine will also save Claremore Ag Ed from using up large amounts of consumables and expensive metal during the very beginning stages of learning how to weld while also providing a much safer working environment. Students are comfortable with VR technology. Check it out β–Ά https://youtu.be/TGJNFATggWY

πŸ“š THANK YOUR LIBRARIAN TODAY πŸ“š β€œA library is a good place to go when you feel unhappy, for there, in a book, you may find encouragement and comfort. A library is a good place to go when you feel bewildered or undecided, for there, in a book, you may have your question answered. Books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people - people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book." [Letters of Note; Troy (MI, USA) Public Library, 1971] ― E.B. White It's National Library Workers Day and we can't think of any better way to celebrate than to visit your school librarian and check out a book. Lexi Keesler's drawing advanced to the national level after winning a Scholastic Art Gold Key at the regional level. Lexi won the National Scholastic Silver Key, putting her among the top 1% of all entries. This is the highest honor an art student can achieve. Lexi is not only representing our Claremore High School but the State of Oklahoma. Her remarkable talent will only improve as she is just a freshman in Art I. We can’t wait to see how her gift develops in the next three years. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

5th grade has been learning about the Energy in Food they eat. Did you know that children between the ages of 10 and 12 need a minimum of 2,200 Calories each day? Students looked at the calories and the nutritional value of different foods. Some students were shocked at how many calories were in their favorite sodas compared to the food they consume for energy. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our Native American Club at Catalayah took advantage of the nice weather yesterday and went outside to play Game of Graces. Graces is played with two people. Each person gets two dowel rods. Then, one of the players takes a wooden hoop and, pulling apart the two rods, sends the hoop into the air for the other player to try to catch. The winner is the player who is first to catch the hoop ten times. The Game of Graces was a popular activity for young girls during the early 1800s. During the first quarter of the 19th century, the game was invented in France and called le jeu des graces.[1] The Game of Graces was considered a proper game – one befitting young ladies and, supposedly, one that would make them more graceful. Graces was hardly ever played by boys and never played by two boys simultaneously; the players were always either two girls or a boy and a girl. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
