🏫🌟🦓National Assistant Principal Celebration In honor of our wonderful Assistant Principals, we are playing a game of guess who! Every day at 7pm, we will post a childhood photo of one of our Assistant Principals with a few clues! Let's have a little fun and drop your guess in the comments below! 1. I was in Kindergarten here. 2. My favorite subject was recess (really probably reading). 3. I wanted to be like my dad when I grew up... a cowboy! Good luck and happy guessing! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🦓🎓Gearing up for college! Claremore High School students had an exclusive opportunity at Roger State University for early enrollment! Their day consisted of enrolling for the 2023-2024 school year, getting their IDs, getting assistance with financial aid, working with counselors to get schedules made, and getting an on-campus experience eating lunch in the dining hall. Such a great way to get acclimated to the college campus and get some extra help with enrollment. All of this was made possible through the Gear Up Grant, a big thank you to the Gear Up Program! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🧼Keeping Claremore Healthy! Oklahoma Department of Health has partnered with public schools across the state to continue to keep schools healthy. In the efforts of this mission, they have distributed hygiene kits to all Claremore Public Schools. These helpful kits include an assortment of supplies needed to ensure healthy interactions. Some items included are; sanitizing cloths, anti-bacterial spray, bandaids, kleenex, chapstick, and more. Each student and staff member now has a kit to keep with them as they continue to practice the importance of daily hygiene. Thank you to the Oklahoma State Department of Health for their contribution to keeping our schools healthy! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🐛 The Cater-pillars of learning! Westside Pre-K classes have been playing scientists watching their class caterpillars grow over the last few weeks! They are learning about lifecycle, food requirements, and skills of overall awareness of observing another life form. This hands-on experience helps students develop new vocabulary words like "metamorphosis" or "chrysalis", and how to closely observe living in their habitats. The students are engaged and eager to check in on their little fuzzy friends every day! Now they just wait until they turn into beautiful butterflies. 🦋🦋 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

They think they are just having fun but we know they are developing ifelong learning skills. Our Kindergarten students rocked their STEM challenges! Watching them see how high they could stack plastic cups was so much fun. But did you know this simple activity actually involves tons of learning objectives? It helps develop hand-eye coordination, promotes teamwork, builds critical thinking skills, teaches spatial awareness, and generates problem-solving skills. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

4/6/2023 Zebra Families, At Claremore Public Schools (CPS), we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students above all else. We take all potential threats seriously and investigate them thoroughly. Last night, a report was made to the administration at Claremore High School, who immediately notified the Claremore Police Department (CPD) concerning a social media post. We are relieved to report that the CPD found no evidence of a threat toward our school, and the photo in question was from an incident that occurred in 2018 and was directed at a different high school in New Mexico. Nevertheless, in an abundance of caution, the CPD will increase its presence on our campus and provide additional security at CHS to help give our families peace of mind. We want to reassure our students, families, and community that we will continue doing everything possible to maintain a safe learning environment for all. Thank you to the Claremore Police Department for their swift actions.

📖 “Alone We Can Do So Little; Together We Can Do So Much.” Helen Keller Claremore Public Schools' elementary classes have been learning all about Helen Keller, a crusade for the disabled and the creator of braille. They read a biography about her life and learned braille and sign language. The kids loved using their new knowledge and began writing down words in braille! They also learned the alphabet in American Sign Language! They were taught about compassion and to never give up on their dreams, from Helen Keller! Both words are perfect examples of Great Expectations life principles, compassion and perseverance! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🤠GO POKES and GO ZEBRAS🦓 Mrs. Rahn & the WRJH Girls STEM Club visited Oklahoma State University last Saturday and toured the Endeavor Engineering Lab, along with other labs in OSU’s engineering department. The girls also test-flew the unmanned airplane they built to prepare for the SpeedFest Competition later this month. Opportunities like this allow these girls to grow more and more confident in their abilities. They learn about the physics of flight, the importance of weight distribution, and the role of air resistance. They've learned about engineering, STEM, and the joys of building something from scratch. They made new friends, challenged themselves, and gained a whole new appreciation for the power of science. Maybe one day, one of these girls will go on to become a world-renowned engineer, designing planes that will fly higher, faster, and further, than anyone ever thought possible. And it all started with the STEM Club, a trip to a local college, the excitement of an upcoming competition, and a group of determined Junior High girls. Building future female engineers one model airplane at a time! Way to go, Girls! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🎭 "I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being." - Oscar Wilde It is never too early to be exposed to fine arts, which is just what the first and second-grade students from Claremore Elementary schools got early exposure to. They recently visited Claremore's own Robson Performing Arts Center to experience the talented Tulsa Opera. For many of these children, this was their first exposure to opera or classical music. And yet, the experience will likely stay with them for years to come, inspiring them to seek out more music and art. Music and art are forms of creative expression that allow students to explore their own ideas and feelings. By learning to play an instrument, sing, draw, or paint, they develop a sense of confidence in their abilities and learn to express themselves in new and exciting ways. The arts allow students to expand their horizons, develop new skills, and discover the joy of music and art. Tulsa's talent performed Space Encounters and included fun audience participation. The students were fully engrossed in the performance and enjoyed their experience immensely. Big shout out to Mrs. Gaylord and the Tulsa Opera for spreading love for the musical arts and making big things happen at Claremore Schools! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🌟"Making a Difference, One Future at a Time." Claremont has lots of future doctors, lawyers, pop stars, teachers, astronauts, bakers, athletes, and more on their hands. They adopted the theme of "Making a Difference, One Future at a Time." As a way to have students participate in the celebration, they were asked to dress as their future career. It was so much fun for the students to be able to be a part of the celebration in an interactive and hands-on way! Can't wait to see where their futures take them! 🏥🩺Veterinarian Clinic or 3rd-grade class? Why not both! A Veterinary pet hospital recently "opened" at West Side Elementary! 3rd-grade students completed a reading and math activity that correlated to their given pet case. They practiced reading skills and solved multi-step word problems, with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division while relating the skills to veterinarian practices! They even had the attire to match! After a long day's hard work, they got to walk their dogs and feel good about the work they did! 🐶🐩 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
