Mr. Isenbart’s high school TSA students created STEM activities and stopped by to share them with the 5th graders!! The TSA students were divided into groups and each 5th grade class had a different lesson. They made rockets that flew, cars that zoomed and separated oil from water. STEM is FUN! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

History in the making... literally! Coach Dexter's History classes are reviewing their history concepts and making movie posters over the American Revolution! Learning about the Battle of Saratoga, Battle of Bunker Hill, the Life of Nathan Hale and The Crossing of the Delaware is even more exciting when you start creating posters that bring it to life! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

In honor of “I Love Public Schools Day,” we want to recognize someone who has been a major supporter of Claremore Public School over the years, Mr. Don McGuire! When asked why Don is passionate about public school, he said “Because of two public school teacher's, I'm the first person in my family to graduate from both high school and college, as they encouraged me to go to college after the military... I'm 72 and just trying to be an encouragement to those teachers who have gone through so much and let them know that I’m grateful for what they do. It's teachers like them that made a difference in my life, and I want to encourage them and say thank you, I care." Don was raised in Tulsa, but left to join the Army during Vietnam. When he came home from the service, he married his high school sweetheart, Sharon. He worked at a factory and would go to college at night, and eventually earned his degree in Criminal Justice. After he retired, he and his wife moved to Pryor to take care of his dad. He ended up being a substitute teacher at Pryor Middle School and High School for 9 years. After his dad was moved to the VA center in Claremore, Don and Sharon bought a house near Westside Elementary to be close to him. They fell in love with Claremore and started taking donuts to Westside and Claremont, just to brighten the teachers’ days. Thank you Don and Sharon for your constant kindness, support, and love for Claremore Public Schools! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Growing Beyond Earth is a classroom-based citizen science project operated in partnership with NASA, designed to advance NASA research on growing plants in space. 🌱 The Will Rogers Junior High STEM students collected data on the growth of Cilantro and Basil to test its viability and ability to grow in a simulated ISS (International Space Station) growth chamber. After they gathered all of their data and submitted it to NASA, they celebrated & ate homemade salsa!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Let it snow!! ❄️ Kindergarten students made snow by mixing two common household ingredients; cornstarch and conditioner. These excited kiddos have snow to play with all month long! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Look what these students made in Native American Club!! They copied Indian bead designs and made coasters with Perler beads. They turned out beautiful!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

In Mrs. Foster’s 5th grade computer class, students are learning basic parts of coding using computer language to build sequences and computer programs. Computer coding is a big portion of their computer science curriculum!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Westside's incredible counselor, Mrs. Lyons, visits classrooms around the school to teach social and emotional skills. This class helped identify emotions by viewing facial expressions and body language. Students enjoy the excitement and love that Mrs. Lyons brings to each lesson. 💖 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Second graders had a blast with their back to school “find a friend” activity. All over the building, students have been excited to be back to school after break! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
