Mrs. Rahn’s class has studied the sun and prepared for the Annular Eclipse. An Annular Eclipse is when the moon does not cover the entire disc of the sun so that a ring of sunlight surrounds the shadow of the moon. 🌒
They had a "front-row seat" for the Eclipse that occurred on Saturday, October 14th. Students made their own solar eclipse pinhole viewers for the eclipse and tried to view sunspots on the Sun Spotter. 🕶🌞🌑
Did you see the Annular Eclipse?

Every year Claremore Zebras unite together in support of staff members and students personally battling cancer. ZUAC (Zebras United Against Cancer), is an organization at Claremore High School that fundraises to provide financial support to our Zebra family members who have been personally affected by cancer.
Pink out is one of many ways the Zebras show support and raise money for this organization, and if there is one thing the Zebras know how to do it is PINK OUT!💗🦓💪🏼💕🎀

Westside Elementary Native American Club students are getting creative!🎨🖌🐂
Students are learning about Native American culture, and traditions through the integration of hands-on projects. Club sponsor and art teacher, Mr. McClurg, led the discussion about the history and importance of bison to the tribes of the plains. Students put what they learned to paper and created their own bison drawings. What an awesome & meaningful project! ✍🏽❤️🎨

Let’s welcome Mrs. Kaylee Case to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature!
Mrs. Kaylee Case is an 8th-grade math teacher at Will Rogers Junior High. She graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor's in Secondary Mathematics and is working on getting her Master's in School Counseling. This is her second year teaching but her first with CPS!
When asked why she chose Claremore Public Schools, she shared, “I chose CPS because I wanted to teach somewhere close to home, welcoming staff members, and a great school district to teach in. I believe CPS is a great fit for me in these areas.” She has always wanted to be a teacher, “I started teaching because I love helping students learn. I want to help shape the next generation of students to become great citizens in this world. I love math, and I want to teach students how to love math as well.”
She and her husband, Austin, have a dog named Mae Belle! She loves all things outdoors and sport-related! A fun fact about her is she has never eaten a cheeseburger, although she is not a vegetarian!
