🌟🔭✨ Claremore High School Astronomy Club had an incredible time at our first Star Party last night! They headed out to Will Rogers' Birthplace and were lucky enough to witness the planets align. Thanks to Andy Luginbill, husband of Mrs. Luginbill - CHS English teacher, for bringing out his telescopes and giving the members a tour of the sky. It was amazing to use the club's new telescope for the first time and see the beauty of the universe up close. 🚀🪐 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Styers' classes at WRJH are working on an equivalent ratio card sort, where they're learning how to find ratios that have the same value by multiplying or dividing both quantities by the same number. What a great way to practice math skills and prepare for real-world applications! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Did you know, storytelling promotes a sense of community and belonging? It enables students to engage in sense-making, helps develop empathy and self-confidence and facilitates learning. Our 1st graders are telling stories through reading to their "reading buddies" who are attentive listeners. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is now open! All families must complete enrollment every year. Enrollment may be completed entirely online, and we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer to enroll. If you do not have access to a computer, or if you need enrollment assistance, the CPS Enrollment Center has computers and scanners available and will be happy to help. They are open daily from 8a - 4p (arrive by 3:30p). You are now able to enroll your current students for the 2023-2024 school year by accessing the student records portal through this link https://ok.wengage.com/claremore. Please watch the video instructions or follow the written instructions to update the necessary information and complete the 2024 school year enrollment. This applies to current and new students. We are proud to recognize one of our wonderful volunteers, Mrs. Clemons, for her amazing work with our 1st graders! She recently taught them all about crystals and helped them create their own. The students were mesmerized by this scientific process and thoroughly enjoyed their time with Mrs. Clemons. THIS IS THE SUPER BOWL OF PARENT ENGAGEMENT! Tonight Claremore High School's yearly ZAP (Zebra Advisement Program) concludes its year-long process with its annual enrollment night for all current 8th - 11th graders. Hundreds of parents walked through the doors of CHS to enroll their children into the 23-24 school year. Parents, students, and teacher advisors discussed the current transcript, credits, classes, and opportunities to make a schedule conducive to the individual needs of their child. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🎶🎵Music is the language of the soul and our 5th graders proved it right! They had a blast during their field trip to hear the Tulsa Symphony where they sang, danced and interacted with the orchestra. The Link Up concert offered a unique experience with Tulsa Opera singers, dancers, vocalists from the University of Tulsa, and the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra all coming together to create beautiful music. Let's incorporate music into our daily lives and become an accompaniment to the world around us. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Check out what Mrs. Mann's 2nd-grade students accomplished in math today... they took graphing to a whole new rainbow level! 🌈📊 Using Skittles to represent different colors of the rainbow, these kiddos learned how to graph their data and illustrate their findings. Character is important at any age and any position. Safety patrol member Hudson recognizes good character in others. He celebrated the effort of our wonderful Mrs. Nicks and presented her with a character recognition award. Westside students of all ages are making gains in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. We are so excited to see more and more individuals place their names on the math wall. This is not an easy challenge and requires frequent practice. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🎬S.E., Stuart, Reba, Will, Carrie, Kristin, Belle, and Chuck were among the Oklahoma A-listers lining the halls of Claremont. It's amazing to see the creativity and hard work of our 3rd graders in their Wax Museum project! They've chosen famous Oklahomans to research, wrote essays, created posters, and even acted out a script to share their knowledge with everyone. It's a great way for students to learn about our state's history and culture, and also develop their speaking and presentation skills. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
