🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️Engaging the kinesthetic and visual learner while teaching math takes a creative approach. The 5th grade math class at Roosa got busy plotting points on a coordinate plane. Students were able to draw two numbers, an X coordinate and a Y coordinate. They started at the origin (0,0) and then plotted themselves by physically moving to the point on the grid on the floor. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🎈5th Grade students made Hot Air Balloons while finishing up their matter unit, learning the hot air density. After the instructions were given and utilizing technology to observe the process, they independently created their hot air balloons. Not only did they get a lesson on matter but the importance of reading and following directions. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Were new substances formed or not? 🧪 Mrs. Tietz's High School Physical Science class has been studying chemical and physical changes. One station has a reaction between baking soda and vinegar that blew up a balloon. One station had a reaction between liver and hydrogen peroxide. It bubbled and got hot. They formed a precipitate with ammonia and copper 2 sulfate. They turned water red, blew some bubbles, ate a cracker, put butane in a baggie and watched the baggie expand. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
