We are blessed to be a part of a community that invests back into the schools. Westside Elementary Family Fun Night raised over $18K for their PTO, which will directly benefit students!
Community involvement is more than money but the partnership between parents and teachers to ensure the success of all students.

NJROTC Corps of Cadets Drone team spent all day with Mrs. Rahn's five STEM classes demonstrating "all things drones" this spring.
After a drone and NJROTC presentation, each 6th grade student flew a micro-drone through an obstacle course and, after a few practices, raced the micro-drones against their classmates.
While some of Mrs. Rahn's students were busy flying micros, the other half of the class was outside flying the DJI Mini 2 and the DJI Inspire 2 (professional photo/video drones).
The event was a STEM-based collaboration between Junior High and High School.

CPS teachers took part in the OK Donors Choose Grant process earlier this year. Thirty-four teachers at CPS received funding for their proposals, equaling almost $34K in grants.
Ashlyn Brassfield, a computer teacher at Catalayah Elementary School, replaces and updates student headphones and creates a calming corner in her room with rope lights, a moon galaxy lamp, a plush animal set, and sensory fidget toys in her classroom with her Donors Choose grant.

Before school was out, Mrs. Maxville's class enjoyed their Kindergarten day in 5th grade.
She likes to remind her students even though they are growing up, they are never to old to have fun and enjoy school. They made play-doh and a "Z" zebra craft. Our kindergarten teachers Mrs. Stolusky and Mrs. Douthitt even came down to visit.

Claremore NJROTC Corps of Cadets recently had four cadets graduate from the 2022 American Legion Boys State held at Rogers State University.
In a thank you letter to the sponsoring American Legion, one cadet wrote-- "They say that Boy's State is "the week that shapes a lifetime." This statement is absolutely true. The life lessons I learned have already had a huge impact on how I think and conduct myself." - Cadet Chandler Wilson.
Cadets: Chandler Wilson, Tyler Trull, Colt Grubbs and Carter Grimes Congratulations to the Cadets!

When you have talent within your district, there is no need to go looking elsewhere. When we reached out to Morgan Wiggs, an art student at CHS and a member of the Class of 2022, to commission an original painting for the entry of the Administration offices, she was thrilled to lend her talent and time to create this one-of-a-kind piece.
Nothing says #CPSZEBRAPRIDE like a red and white zebra stripe! CPS may have refined her skills and encouraged her love of art, but she has now left her mark hanging on the wall of CPS.

Today's entry in our #ZebraTravelDiaries is another one from Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Hudson was the ring bearer and Riley the flower girl in their uncle's wedding. Both are Westside students. The whole Baldwin family repped their #CPSZEBRAPRIDE on the beach.
