Students and staff may have had a short school week last week, but there was no shortage of hard work. Various grades across the district explored book genres by having a book tasting! Reservations only, of course. Students made their way from genre table to genre table getting a taste for the genre and the books! Students found out more about what kinds of books they liked. Bon Appetit, Zebras! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

WE REMEMBER For 17 years, NJROTC has made it their mission to lead our students in honoring those who served and those currently in service. The Colors posted, the National Anthem performed, the bell rang, the 9/11 remembrance video played and Taps echoed as 1300 students and guests watched with reverence. CPS is proud of our students who are preserving the legacy of those who lost their lives. #NeverForget #WeRemember #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Have you ever heard 5th graders say “This isn’t math, this is fun!” while they are doing math the first week of school? I have! Working to build a classroom full of engaged students willing to think about any task has gone amazing so far, I can’t wait to see what they continue to do this year ❤️ - Ms. Bart 5th grade students at Roosa went on a shopping spree! Students were given challenges and had to spend a certain amount of money without going over. They worked in teams to find solutions to see what they could buy. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

What a beautiful moment captured between two siblings. Big sister was helping clean her little sister's dress after spilling something on it at breakfast. This is such a moving act of service and wonderful example for us all. Ask your student how they modeled kindness using one of our 8 Expectations this week! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
