Don’t date upperclassmen. 🔴 What has this journey taught you about yourself? You don’t have to be mature about everything in life. 🔴 Looking back on your school experience at CPS what does being a Zebra mean to you? School spirit and close peers. 🔴 What staff member made the biggest impact on your life and how in elementary school? Mrs. Brasher. She was always a loving, ecstatic, and kind person that made learning various subjects fun. 🔴 What staff member made the biggest impact on your life and how in junior high? Mrs. Worley. She introduced me to my love for sciences and always made sure to push all of her students in their studies. 🔴 What staff member made the biggest impact on your life and how in high school? Mr. Cummings. He created a comfortable and enriching learning environment that allowed his students to voice their opinions without judgment. 🔴 What is the ONE thing you absolutely take with you to college? 🧚‍♂️ Bippity, Boppity, Boo!! Second grade just completed their Fairy Tale unit and the means... IT'S FAIRY TALE BALL TIME at Roosa! This magical unit took students to faraway lands, with princes and princesses, heroes and villains, good vs. evil, and much more. Throughout this unit, the second grade read various fairy tales from around the world. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Make lots of friends, go out and have fun because it’s all over too quickly. 🔴 What has this journey taught you about yourself? This journey has taught me that I don’t need another person's approval as long as I am confident in my decisions. 🔴 Looking back on your school experience at CPS what does being a Zebra mean to you? Being a Zebra means supporting your community and striving to be the best version of yourself for you and your peers. 🔴 What staff member made the biggest impact on your life and how in elementary school? Mrs. Caldwell showed me that teachers really do care about their students by supporting me outside of school, like coming to watch my games on the weekends. 🔴 What staff member made the biggest impact on your life and how in high school? Coach Jahn has made a huge impact on my life by pushing me to become the best leader possible for my teammates. 🔴 What is the ONE thing you absolutely take with you to college? It all works out, so take your time and enjoy it. What has this journey taught you about yourself? I have a voice that matters just like anyone else. Looking back on your school experience at CPS what does being a Zebra mean to you? To me, being a Zebra means you’ve got a community rooting for you, even when you feel like you can’t see it. What staff member made the biggest impact on your life and how at CHS? Mrs. Souza - She has always been kind and supportive in encouraging me to embrace my goals and potential. What is the ONE thing you absolutely take with you to college? It’s okay to ask for help when you need it. Anything else you'd like to add... I’m grateful that Claremore was where I got to go to high school - I wouldn’t choose anywhere else. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

She has so many fond memories she could not pick just one. Wesley Baxley became a Zebra in 2nd grade. He’s been involved in athletics and drama during high school. Being a part of the Zebra football team will be his favorite memory of his time here. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION 8 Days to Graduation brought to you by Mrs. Tara Near and Carson Haynie Mrs. Near is the secretary at WRJH and has been there for the past four years. Her fondest memory is when Carson met Caden Robertson during his first-grade year at Westside. Caden made fun of how big Carson’s ears were by singing the song lyrics, “Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro.” His mom made him write an apology note attached to a package of peppermints, and they quickly became best friends. Carson started his Zebra career at Westside as a 1st grader. He wore the Zebra uniform on the historic Lantow Field during football season and will finish his years in a red graduation cap and gown on that same field in 8 days. It is fitting that his fondest memories are centered around hanging with the boys during football season. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION 9 Days to Graduation brought to you by Mrs. Silversmith & Alayliun “Laya” Knight Mrs. Sandy Silversmith has served Catalayah students as a Paraprofessional for 8 years and is a Zebra alum from the Class of 1990. The Silversmiths gained Laya as a new member of their family this year. Mrs. Silversimth will always remember how kind she was to her daughter who shared the same position as her on the basketball team. That kindness will always be a fond memory. She always enjoyed watching them both play. Laya became a Zebra family in 8th grade and attended WRJH. She has participated in Book Club, basketball and track. She says the Zebra family always made her feel at home and welcome. She always had something pushing her to keep going and to never give up. She took that advice and will graduate from CHS in May. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

"School Lunch Hero Day" Our chidl nutrition team has prepared and served 18,257 breakfasts, 42,249 lunch meals and 2,555 snacks district wide as of April 30th and we still have 9 days to go. #CPSZEBARPRIDE
