COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION 8 Days to Graduation brought to you by Mrs. Tara Near and Carson Haynie Mrs. Near is the secretary at WRJH and has been there for the past four years. Her fondest memory is when Carson met Caden Robertson during his first-grade year at Westside. Caden made fun of how big Carson’s ears were by singing the song lyrics, “Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro.” His mom made him write an apology note attached to a package of peppermints, and they quickly became best friends. Carson started his Zebra career at Westside as a 1st grader. He wore the Zebra uniform on the historic Lantow Field during football season and will finish his years in a red graduation cap and gown on that same field in 8 days. It is fitting that his fondest memories are centered around hanging with the boys during football season. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

She always enjoyed watching them both play. Laya became a Zebra family in 8th grade and attended WRJH. She has participated in Book Club, basketball and track. She says the Zebra family always made her feel at home and welcome. She always had something pushing her to keep going and to never give up.
