It's always a great day to #BEATPRYOR! ICYMI - Coach Bump put together this highlight video of the Lady Zebras beating Pryor 48-42. â–¶ http://www.hudl.com/v/2GjxKb.

What was your favorite specials class as an elementary student?
These 2nd graders are sure enjoying their time with Mrs. Steuart during gym class, and we love that they have the opportunity to get their wiggles out!

Do you remember how you felt when an older student encouraged you, gave you a compliment, or even just a high five?
Claremont 4th graders made our kindergarten students feel special on their way to specials this week.
Those smiles on their faces are a reflection of the smiles in their hearts!
You can bet this feeling is something they will remember.

Mrs. Ward's class reminds us that LOVE > hate! â–¶ https://youtube.com/shorts/_XsFP749SB0?feature=share
Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., an influential American civil rights leader. We are so grateful for Dr. King's strength, leadership, and courage.

Do you know what a dichotomous key does? Mrs. Simpson's class can answer this!
Students in Mrs. Simpson's Science class used a dichotomous key to identify different types of rocks. A dichotomous key is used for the identification of organisms based on a series of choices between alternative characters.

We love our students!
"CPS is truly a family - you don't have to be in my class for me to love you!" Claremont teacher.
They are all OUR students, and we can't wait to have them all back in class tomorrow.

We are fortunate to have US Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Zachary Kappler visit Claremore's NJROTC Corps of Cadets.
The Corps of Cadets is mustering (in uniform) in the Maker Space to hear Chief Kappler speak about his career in the US Coast Guard (USCG) and USCG opportunities.
Chief Kappler drove from OKC, as there is only one USCG recruiting office in Oklahoma.
Our Corps of Cadets Commanding Officer, Cayden Hudson, interviewed Chief Kappler for the "Cadet Minute." Watch it here ➡ https://youtu.be/0d9ke-tAqFE

Beat Pryor! 51-49

Volleyball started a new tradition - leaving a legacy on and off the court. Beginning this year, each senior will choose a brick in the locker room to leave their handprint, name, and number representing their effort in building this program.
This year's seniors sacrificed their blood, sweat, tears, and time for something bigger than themselves. We look forward to seeing ALL our seniors represented on this wall. May these bricks be a reminder for those who come after you of the foundation of sacrifice it takes to build a ZEBRA NATION.

Need a warm and fuzzy 🤗 on this cold winter day? This ⬇will do it!
"I know times are uncertain right now, but I want you to know I love your kiddos like my own; thank you for sharing them with me!" - Mrs. Jennifer Perry Lewis
We hear this on a daily basis at CPS. Who was this teacher for you in school?

School is back in session, and that means small groups are too!
1st grade students move in small group rotations to work on new skills and practice already acquired skills throughout the day.
Here, students are working on vocabulary matching puzzles.

Mrs. Monnot from the City of Claremore, Storm Water Department, came to Catalayah to show our 5th graders about water quality, recycling, and how recycling will help keep the world clean.
Recycling is the process of collecting and processing materials that would otherwise be thrown away as trash and turning them into new products. Recycling can benefit your community and the environment.
Fifth graders have the opportunity to participate in an art contest. The winner gets to have their art displayed on a trash truck for the next few years as a prize. Information for the poster submission is attached. We would like to have all posters turned in by March 2nd.

Students across the district were eager to return to the library this week to exchange their books.
Did you know, reading not only widens a child's vocabulary, but through reading, children develop empathy, build confidence, and expand their imagination. Reading impacts many facets of a child's development!

Ever asked questions, and all you hear is the crickets?
Mrs. Blankenship's class was full of crickets when she introduced the argumentative writing unit using a game of speed debating. Students had thirty seconds to argue their side of an issue. Let's say these crickets were chirping all hour.

4th graders work on XtraMath on their laptops.
XtraMath is an online math fact fluency program that helps students develop quick recall and automaticity of their basic math facts. Math fact fluency is so important as students begin to learn more complex forms of math!

If we ever get a snow day, these students will be ready!
Mrs. Wallis' 2nd-grade is reading a book about Balto and his trip to save the town of Nome, Alaska, in 1925. The student completed a STEM project constructing sleds as an enrichment activity.
The next time they get on a sled, we bet they will think about this activity and maybe ask some questions about how their sled was made. We love to see all their creativity!
#CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Build it, and they will... learn math?
Mrs. Bacon's class had a tower-building competition to see who could build the tallest tower. The towers were measured in centimeters and inches. Things got exciting when the towers grew taller than the students!
#CPSZEBRAPRIDE

WRJH may not have students in the building this week, but that's not stopping teachers from doing what they do best - TEACHING!
WRJH teachers connect with students with Google Classroom / Google Meets during our distance learning. Students can log in and work on assignments and communicate with their teachers online.
