Happy Birthday to Mrs. Helen Quiring, who began teaching at CHS in 1984 and has taught English here over half of her life. She celebrated by reading The Crucible today with her English III students.
If you had Mrs. Quiring show her some love on her 70th birthday in the comments of our CPS FB page... and let us know what year you had her as a teacher.

Ms. Casey's class doesn't need a GPS to find their way home. How many of you can find Claremore on a paper map?

Mrs. Cadwell took the Roosa STEAM Club spent the day an educational workshop put on by Brook Easton and her "EAST" students at Northeast Tech! The kids learned to create 3D images in AutoCAD, how to export and splice their designed images in Cura, and then print their images on the 3D printers. They participated in team-building activities, learned to shake hands properly, and got to play with drones and virtual reality goggles! They had a blast and learned so much! This experience is one they will always remember.

"Unity is strength. . . when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved." --Mattie Stepanek
Mrs. Hutchin's class at Catalayah did some team building to help students practice working together.
That's what #CPSZEBRAPRIDE is all about.

I spy with my little eye - a friend helping a friend!!! I love seeing this!! Keep up the good work Catalayah!

Teachers understand that manipulatives provide a concrete foundation for learning abstract ideas. Lots of hands-on learning happening at Claremont this week! We love to give our students opportunities to be creative and learn with manipulatives.

Mrs. Boyd's Native American Club read the story How Grandmother Spider Stole the Sun while they were making pinch pots. A pinch pot is a simple form of hand-made pottery that dates back over 12,000 years. The pinching method is to create pottery that can be ornamental or functional and has been widely employed across cultures and times. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Thousands of people invite Michell Linn to breakfast every morning, she tells them stories about people, events, and life but she shares that space from the television screen. However, Catalayah students got to sit at the table with her before school dismissed for the holidays for a VIP pizza lunch. Michelle Linn, co-anchor of FOX23 Morning News, hosted a VIP lunch with the students that sold the most tickets for their school fundraiser. As a mother of 4 herself, Mrs. Linn knows the importance of engaging and mentoring young people. Students were enamored as she took the time to talk to each student individually. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

A few Westside Running Club kiddos and parents met up over the break for a Christmas light run/walk followed by hot chocolate at JFarleys. The best lights on the run were the lights in the eyes of these faithful runners.
