📚🧈 A Buttery Fun Read Across America Celebration! 🎉 Mrs. Eckert’s kindergarten class at Westside Elementary celebrated reading with a fun and tasty Seuss-inspired activity! After reading The Butter Battle Book by Dr. Seuss, students rolled up their sleeves and made their own butter using heavy whipping cream and a whole lot of shaking! 💪 Once it was ready, they spread it on bread for a delicious homemade treat they created all by themselves. 🍞🧈 #CPSZebraPride

🔋💡 Lighting Up Learning in Ms. Lopez’s Class! ⚡️ At Catalayah Elementary, Ms. Lopez’s students took science to the next level with a hands-on lesson in electricity! They built simple circuits by connecting wires from a battery to a light bulb, exploring how electric current flows through a closed loop. Through this fun and engaging activity, students discovered how conductors like metal wires help transfer energy and what happens when a circuit is broken. #CPSZebraPride

🧠🎲 Math + Strategy = A Winning Combo in GT! 🧩➕ Mrs. T's GT students took their math skills to the next level with the colorful and brain-boosting game, Prime Climb! After watching a tutorial from one of the game’s creators, Dan Finkel, students jumped into the action, using strategy and arithmetic to make their moves. With a larger-than-usual 4th-grade class, they also brought out a crowd favorite, Blokus, to keep the logic flowing and the competition friendly! ♟️ It was a day packed with critical thinking, teamwork, and fun, proving that learning can be both challenging and exciting. #CPSZebraPride

Exploring Native American History & Art 🎨 The Westside Elementary Native American Club, with Mr. McClurg, has dove into the rich history, traditions, and art forms of various tribes. 🌎✨ Recently, students created necklaces inspired by Mississippian gorgets, symbols of status, fashion, and cultural expression. The Mississippians, who settled along the Mississippi River, built mounds for homes and thrived through trade. Celebrating National Athletic Training Month: Honoring Our Student Athletic Training Aides💪🏼🦓 Claremore Public Schools is proud to spotlight one of the most essential, but often behind-the-scenes, parts of our athletic program: our student athletic training aides. These dedicated students are more than just helpers on the sidelines; they play a vital role in our athletic program by helping with injury prevention, providing first aid and care, managing game-day logistics, gaining real-world experience in sports medicine, and are passionate about keeping our Zebra athletes healthy and ready to compete. Under the guidance of our certified athletic trainer, Mrs. Karlee Davis, these students work long hours after school, on weekends, during games and practices to support our teams in meaningful and vital ways. As we celebrate National Athletic Training Month, we want to thank our student aides and Mrs. Davis for their dedication, compassion, and hard work.
