Let's throw back to October when Mrs. Ward’s first graders mixed a little spooky fun with some serious science on Halloween! 🎃🧪
Students became mini scientists as they created their own homemade lava lamps using water, oil, food coloring, and Alka-Seltzer tablets. Along the way, they explored:
✨ How oil and water separate
✨ How food coloring sinks through the oil to reach the water
✨ How the Alka-Seltzer reaction creates bubbles that lift the color to the top — just like a glowing, bubbling lava lamp!
It was the perfect blend of hands-on learning and Halloween magic!

As part of our Partners in Education program, RSU and RCB Bank treated Claremont Elementary students like VIPs, complete with basketball fun, a free-throw contest, and hot pizza. Students also received stockings, candy, water bottles, and even surprise bikes!
We’re incredibly grateful to RSU, RCB Bank, and a generous private donor for making this day so special. It was a powerful example of community, joy, and partnership in action.❤🦓

Westside 4th graders shared their love of literacy this week by reading to Ms. Palmer’s class!
It was a sweet sight to see our older students model reading fluency, kindness, and leadership while connecting with their younger peers through storytelling. These special moments foster a lifelong love of learning, and build friendships across grade levels.
Way to go, Zebras! 🦓❤

Claremore Public Schools is proud to be one of only 80+ districts, out of more than 500 public school districts in Oklahoma, to complete the rigorous process documenting our teachers' pedagogy, leadership, and the characteristics that elevate the profession of teaching. That’s because we believe in showing our teachers that they are seen and valued, and that we couldn’t do what we do without them.
There were tears of gratitude, hugs of appreciation, and hearts full of #CPSZEBRAPRIDE. Thank you to every educator who inspires, leads, and shapes the future. Mr. Frazier spoke with great admiration about the character and impact of these teachers—and the bright future ahead for Claremore Public Schools.
We were honored to have Senator Adam Pugh join us to share words of encouragement and appreciation for the difference our educators make. Senator Ally Seifried, a passionate advocate for education, also joined us to help celebrate the heart and soul of our schools and the teachers in her district.
It is a GREAT day to be a Zebra! ❤️🦓
Check out Ms. Johnson’s photography class in action! Students are getting hands-on experience photographing eggs using flashlights to explore the differences between soft and hard lighting. This creative exercise helps them understand how light shapes depth, shadow, and value—key skills in mastering photographic techniques.
With so much creativity and curiosity in the room, these young photographers are truly rising to the challenge — talk about some Great Egg-spectations! 🥚💡

Officer Holmes shared an inspiring message about friendships, choices, and leadership. He talked with students about how the people we surround ourselves with can shape our future — and reminded them of the power in staying true to who they are, making thoughtful decisions, and choosing the right path even when it’s challenging.
We are grateful to Officer Holmes for taking the time to pour into our students and reinforce the values that help them grow into strong, confident leaders. Thank you for making a lasting impact!

Students weren’t just audience members, they became part of the show, making it an engaging and interactive theatre experience filled with laughter, learning, and pride.
What a wonderful way to celebrate our hometown hero, Will Rogers, and his lasting legacy of wit, kindness, and Oklahoma spirit! ❤️🖤

Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students have been rocking their library time, following routines, engaging in lessons, and returning their books like pros! 🌟
As a special reward, they earned Book Buddy Time this week, and it came with a nostalgic twist! Students had the chance to read to Mrs. Meyers’s beloved collection of childhood Beanie Babies. 🧸💖
Each soft, squishy beanie made the perfect reading partner, quiet, patient, and full of stories themselves. What a magical way to celebrate a love of reading and build confidence in our youngest learners! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Students learned how to play traditional Cherokee games, gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation for the rich culture and history of the Cherokee people. It was an engaging, hands-on experience that connected learning, heritage, and fun! ❤️🖤

Students learned all about fire trucks, the gear firefighters wear, and how they respond to emergencies. Through hands-on activities, they even practiced how to safely exit a house or building in case of a fire. 🧯🏠
To top it off, our kindergarteners got in on the fun with a shoot-the-hoop challenge for a chance to try on real firefighter gear and one lucky student nailed the shot! 🏀👨🚒
A huge thank-you to the Claremore Fire Department for keeping our community safe and inspiring our future heroes! ❤️

This fun, hands-on lab helped them discover how adaptations help animals thrive in their environments. Science came to life right in the classroom!

This holiday season, add a little extra sweetness to your celebrations with Chick-fil-A sweet tea and lemonade. Chick-fil-A donates $2 to the Claremore Public School Foundation for every gallon you take home. Help us surpass last year's donation for classroom and teacher grants district-wide. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🦃 CPS will be closed next week, November 24th - 28th, for Thanksgiving Break 🦃
In the spirit of Neal Maxwell’s famous quote - let’s count our blessings, but also make our blessings count.
💖 CPS is certainly counting each and every staff member, student, and family member among our blessings this year. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve you, your family, and our community.
We look forward to seeing students again on Monday, December 1st.
