Let’s welcome Mr. Zachary Noland back to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature!♥🦓📚 Mr. Zachary Noland is the AP English III and sophomore English teacher at Claremore High School. He graduated from Claremore High School in 2017 and chose to return to his roots to start his high school teaching career! He has a Bachelor's in Music Composition from the University of Tulsa and a Master's in Music Composition from Illinois State University. When asked what he likes about Claremore Public Schools best, he said, “I love the strong community built around students! As a graduate of CHS myself, I've always appreciated the support both teachers, administration, and student community offered.” He chose teaching because “My favorite moment is that "Aha!" students get when they finally understand something. It's one thing to teach a student, but it's even better when they realize their capabilities to learn and grow!” Mr. Noland enjoys jazz and classical music, TTRPGs, video games, reading, and writing! He has won numerous awards and honors in Music Composition, as well as being on the President and Dean’s Honor Roll during his time at TU, 2018-2021. Fun Facts - He has performed in Jazz Ensembles featuring Tim Ries (Rolling Stones), Walter White, and Donny McCaslin (performed on David Bowie's last album). In addition, he has met composers such as Bright Sheng (one of Leonard Bernstein's students), Missy Mazzoli, and Melinda Wagner (Julliard School of Music). Stepping up to the plate with smiles and high-fives, our Claremore Zebra Baseball team brought a little extra fun to our elementary students! They "dressed up" as baseball players to greet our elementary students and staff as they walked into school!🦓❤⚾ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

The Claremore Zebra Softball & Baseball teams played a fang-tastic Halloween wiffleball game! Dressed to impress and sporting creative costumes they had a spooktacular time while also contributing to the food bank at CHS! Players brought food donations to make an impact in their own school!👻⚾🎃 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Let’s welcome Ms. Kendall Fudge to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature!♥🦓 Ms. Fudge is a 7th & 8th-grade English teacher at Will Rogers Junior High. She graduated from Roger State University with a Bachelors in Business Administration. She was an RSU student-athlete and spent three and a half years as a member of the RSU Dance Team. She was on the UDA Nationals Team, where she traveled to Orlando, FL, and competed at the ESPN Sports Complex! This is her first year teaching, and she chose to start her teaching career here at CPS. When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “I have not had the privilege to experience anything at CPS yet, but I am so excited to get to know the students and staff members. Claremore has a strong community culture, and I firmly believe that the school system plays a massive role.” She chose teaching because “I am very passionate about ensuring that the next generation has a safe and welcoming environment to learn and grow. Let’s welcome Ms. Julia Loyd to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature!🦓❤ Ms. Loyd is a 1st-grade teacher at Catalayah Elementary. She has taught for 3 years, and this is her first year at CPS. When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “they have a positive outlook on teaching and strive to help those struggling.” She chose teaching because “I have a passion for reading. I love encouraging students in their reading journey because having a love of reading will take them far in life.” Ms. Loyd enjoys reading, traveling and hiking with her dog, kayaking, camping, laying out by the pool, watching great TV shows, and hanging out with friends and family. She has 2 cats, Ollie & Zora, I have a German Shepherd, Darcy. Fall is here, and Catalayah students are having a pumpkin-tastic time! 🎃🍂 Catalayah's little pumpkins are as sweet as pie and digging into fall activities! Mrs. Griffin has been teaching her WIN group all about Pumpkins over the last couple of weeks. They learned about the life cycle of pumpkins and what you can make with pumpkins! To complete their lesson, they painted pumpkins and tried some pumpkin cake!🎃💛 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Science in education. When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “the welcoming and caring atmosphere.” She chose teaching because “I love being a part of their learning adventure, and I want to help as many students as possible to love learning. I want to help students gain self-confidence and know that their teacher believes in them!” Mrs. Barbee and her husband, Bear, have 4 children and a dog named Millie. Mrs. Barbee enjoys spending time with my family, making crafts, coloring, cooking, and baking! Let’s welcome Mrs. Shauntel Highley to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature! Mrs. Shauntel Highley is a new English teacher at Will Rogers Junior High. She graduated from Pitt State University with a BSED in English. This is her 25th year teaching, but her first with CPS! When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “CPS feels friendly, supportive, and inviting.” She chose teaching and CPS because she felt it was a calling from God in her life! Mrs. Highley and her husband, Jeff, have a daughter, Dacee, and two dogs. Mrs. Highley enjoys reading, puzzles, spending time with family and friends, binge-watching TV and movies, writing, gardening, and learning new things!
