Letβs welcome Mr. Dustin Levesque to the Zebra family in todayβs New Teacher Feature!
Mr. Dustin Levesque is the Westside music teacher. He graduated from East Central University. He has taught music education for 17 years! The trumpet is his main instrument, but he can play many others!
When asked what he likes about Claremore Public Schools most, he shared, βteaching at the same school that my wife and children are a part of,β Claremore really feels like family. He became a teacher because he βloves helping children find their love for music.β
He is married to Jennifer, who also teaches at Westside, and they have two children who attend Claremore Public Schools as well! Some interesting facts about Mr. Levesque are he loves concerts, playing guitar, reading, and spending time with his family. They have a dog, cat, bearded dragon, and parakeet!

Ms. Lowe is an Agricultural Educator and FFA Advisor. She graduated from Oklahoma State University. This is her first year teaching!
When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools most, she shared, βthe welcoming staff, faculty, and school pride!.β She grew up on a beef cattle ranch in Northern California and came to Oklahoma to attend OSU.
She became a teacher βto positively impact and encourage the future generation of agriculturalists, scientists, business owners, and more. Itβs important to bridge the gap between farm and table while teaching students professional development skills that will take them far in life!β
Some interesting facts about Ms. Lowe: she has an orange cat named Cheddar Biscuit and enjoys weightlifting!

Ms. Furr is a special education teacher at Claremont Elementary. She graduated from Northeastern State University and has been teaching for 15 years!
When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools most, she shared, βthe sense of community and positive, upbeat attitude!β She chose to teach to make a difference in children's lives and give them the tools to be whatever they want to be.
She has two daughters, four dogs, loves plants, and reading! A fun fact about Ms. Furr is she has been to Australia twice and loves it there!

Our Volleyball team has served up the competition this year! Last night was the last home game and the girls ended with a 26-7 record and are the UNDEFEATED Metro Lake Conference Champs! They are now gearing up to take that energy to Regionals next week! Way to go Zebras!!π¦β€ππͺπ½

Claremore High Students in Mrs. Schaub's class took an educational field trip to the historic Blue Whale of Catoosa. They had a guest speaker, Mr. Lee Belt who told them stories, about the history, and the construction of the Blue Whale.
A fun fact they learned was Mr. Belt's first birthday party was held at the Blue Whale and the tables and patio area were built for just the occasion. Students learned a history lesson about our hometown tourist attraction and Route 66, all while eating lunch and enjoying an outdoor classroom!π³π¦β€

Coach Dickey is an 8th Grade Social Studies, JH Basketball Coach, and HS Baseball Coach. He graduated from Rogers State University. This is his second year teaching!
When asked what he likes about Claremore Public Schools most, he shared, βthe support that is shown for each other and the hard work to be the best school.β
He grew up in California and came to Oklahoma to play baseball and get his degree at RSU, where he was on the All-Academic Team for the baseball program. He chose education to impact a student's life and time at school positively.
Some interesting facts about Coach Dickey: he has a pet rabbit, and he enjoys fishing and all things sports. Pirates of the Caribbean is his favorite movie, and he loves chips & salsa.

Ray Bywaters, Claremore High School alum in the Class of 1969, was inducted into the Claremore Athletic Hall of Fame.π¦β€
Ray Bywaters, a gifted athlete, left an enduring legacy on the Claremore baseball team. During his three-year stint, he showcased his versatility as a catcher and outfielder while helping lead the team to two consecutive conference titles. Bywaters' senior year was marked by an extraordinary batting average of .440 and a well-deserved all-state designation, underlining his exceptional talent.
His dedication to the sport earned him a scholarship to Bacone College, where he continued to shine. It's worth noting that Ray Bywaters is also the brother of Thomas Bywaters, another distinguished Claremore Athletic Hall of Fame inductee.π¦βΎ
