We’re proud to announce that Claremore Public Schools has received a $5,000 grant from the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry to begin purchasing locally sourced beef for our Child Nutrition Program!
After completing the procurement process, we’re thrilled to partner with DBar Beef/Dorsey Processing out of Pryor to bring fresh, high-quality beef straight from local pastures to our students' plates.
Today, Claremore High School students got to experience it firsthand with a special Burger Bar crafted by Chef Ryan, complete with all the toppings! 🍅🧀🥬 The long lines, happy plates, and even happier stomachs said it all: local beef is a hit!
At CPS, our commitment to excellence extends beyond the classroom. It’s in every meal we serve, every partnership we build, and every opportunity we create for our students. This initiative reflects our core values of innovation, purpose, and community while delivering on our promise to provide excellence for our students and staff on the tray and beyond.

Will Rogers Junior High students in Mr. Wadsworth’s classes just wrapped up a partner project diving into the diverse ethnic groups of Eastern Europe and Western Russia!✨
Each pair researched their assigned group, covering population, traditional clothing, cultural traditions, and even hand-drawing a map! They also included fun facts to bring their posters to life. We can’t wait to see the final results!

Extracting DNA in Mrs. Newbury’s Science Class!🧬🔬
Students have been diving into the world of DNA and exploring how it’s present in every cell of our bodies. But this time, they got to see it firsthand! 👀
Using chemical reactions, they extracted DNA from their own cheek cells, watching their genetic material come to life outside the microscope. A fascinating and fun experiment!

🔬📚 Making Core Memories in 1st Grade! 🎉
Mrs. Hall shared one of her favorite school memories of learning about Oobleck while reading Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss! So, she brought the experience to life for her 1st graders!
Students made predictions, conducted experiments, and recorded observations as they explored oobleck's fascinating (and messy!) properties! 🌟 Hands-on learning at its best!

Congratulations to the CHS Room 701 Jazz Choir and CHS Jazz Band, under the direction of Ruiel Doonkeen and T.J. Smith, for earning straight superior ratings at the Pittsburg State University Jazz Festival! 🎶
🏆 Not only did our students shine on stage, but they also had the incredible opportunity to attend an evening concert by the Grammy-winning group, The Yellowjackets! After the show, they took part in a meet-and-greet, getting CDs signed and asking the pros about their music careers and the equipment they use. It is an unforgettable experience for our talented musicians! 🎷
