🦓❤️🎓 COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION — 2 days brought to you by the Felicianos! Mrs. Jackie Feliciano has been the Registrar at Roosa Elementary for four years. Reflecting on Josh’s school years, she fondly recalls how he would come home excited to tell her that he had hugged everyone at school and how classmates would actively seek him out in the hallways just for one of those hugs. A standout moment came during Josh’s junior year, when, as a lineman in a game against the Ropers, he stripped the ball and ran it in for a touchdown. This year, he became the 5A Regional Heavyweight Champion and finished as the State Runner-Up at the OSSAA State Wrestling Championship. Josh acknowledges several teachers and coaches who played a meaningful role in his journey, including Mrs. Eckert, Coach Hurt, Coach Weber, Coach Willard, Coach Cunningham, Coach Jahn, and Coach Williams. He credits them with helping guide him toward becoming a successful adult. A proud Zebra since kindergarten, Josh has attended Westside Elementary, Will Rogers Junior High, and Claremore High School. He is a dedicated member of both the football and wrestling teams and is also involved in FCA. When asked what he’ll remember most about CPS, Josh said, “Reaching State for football and wrestling was an incredible achievement, and placing 2nd in State wrestling stands out as one of my proudest moments. I’ll never forget the excitement of the hype videos for football and the unforgettable sight of the helicopter landing on the field. I’m incredibly grateful for the support and encouragement from all the CPS staff, it’s something I’ll always remember.” A favorite shared memory between Jackie and Josh was the joy of her being present at all his sporting events, even during the school day. Josh shared, “I’m incredibly grateful that the school allowed her to attend every game and event. A nice bonus was that, since my mom worked for the district, I had free access to games and was able to support my classmates, too.” It has been a fun and unforgettable 11 years for Josh as a proud Zebra! #CPSZebraPride

To celebrate the end of the year, our students packed their own lunches, complete with DIY sandwiches, and headed out to the tennis courts for a picnic in the sunshine! Reflecting on Caden’s school years, she shared, “Working at Catalayah while Caden was in Kindergarten through 5th grade was such a heartwarming experience for me as a mom. It was so special to see him grow and thrive, not just at home but at school too. I loved being able to sneak peeks of his day, watching him interact with his friends, and seeing his excitement when he learned something new. Being at the school with him allowed me to share in every little milestone, making those moments even more meaningful. It was a gift to be part of his school life that way.” Donya and Caden both acknowledge the impact of their 3rd-grade teacher, Mrs. Geranen. She said, “She taught him that not everyone learns the same way and invested so much time into helping him grow.” A proud Zebra since Pre-K, Caden has attended Roosa, Catalayah, Will Rogers Junior High, and Claremore High School. He is a dedicated member of the football and baseball teams and is also involved in FCA. When asked what he’ll remember most about CPS, Caden said, “Being part of the Zebra football team and having Coach Hurt and Coach Key showed me the kind of man I aspire to be.” A favorite shared memory between Donya and Caden is, “I really enjoyed going to school where my mom worked, sharing all those elementary school experiences with her was special.” It has been a fun and unforgettable 13 years for Caden as a proud Zebra! #CPSZebraPride

🌊🐚 Kindergarten Dives Into Ocean Discovery at Roosa! 🐠🌴 Our Roosa Elementary kindergarteners have been making waves in the classroom as they explore the ocean's wonders! From learning about shells and sea creatures to discovering coral reefs and underwater habitats, these young marine biologists are soaking up knowledge like sponges. They’ve examined real shells, sorted ocean animals, and even imagined what it would be like to live under the sea. It’s hands-on learning with a splash of adventure! 🌊🐙🐬 #CPSZebraPride

Mrs. Brisa Diaz has been a Paraprofessional at Claremont Elementary for 2 years, and her mother, Maria, has proudly served as a cook at Claremont for the past 8 years. Reflecting on Xavier’s school years, Brisa fondly remembers a standout moment: “Watching him portray Pelé during the Wax Museum in 3rd grade was such a big milestone. From a household that only speaks Spanish, hearing him pronounce big words and memorize an entire speech was incredible. We were so proud of him then, and we still are.” Brisa and Xavier acknowledge former teacher Lucas Bennett, saying, “He is an interesting guy who brings out the best in people.” A Zebra since 2nd grade, Xavier has attended Claremont, WRJH, and CHS. Recently, our Junior High Students were treated to a savory 3-meat calzone, classic grilled cheese, and chili dogs! 🤤🌭🧀 And don’t worry — we’re keeping it balanced with our fresh and fully stocked salad bar, a staple in every Zebra kitchen. 🥗💚

🦓❤️🎓 COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION — 5 Days brought to you by the Subletts! Mrs. Kassy Sublett is a Psychology and AP Psychology teacher at Claremore High School and has been part of Claremore Public Schools for 2½ years. A proud Class of 2004 Claremore alumna, Kassy has loved the opportunity to return to her roots, this time with her son, Conner, walking the same halls. Conner Sublett became a Zebra his sophomore year, and some of his favorite memories during his time at CHS include eating lunch with his mom in her classroom and enjoying the welcoming environment and engaging classes. Kassy shares one especially fond memory from his time at CPS: “Conner's Uncle Kenny was his principal, so we had some funny interactions during that time. He also went to many sporting events with him and always had a great time. Those shared moments are ones we’ll never forget.” She also recognized Mrs. Bright as a teacher who impacted Conner’s education: “She held him accountable and loved him through his entire time at CPS.” As a student raised in an Active Army family, Conner has attended many schools across the country, but Claremore has become their permanent home. “We are incredibly proud of his resiliency and how he has embraced this new chapter,” Kassy said. It has been a meaningful and memorable journey for Conner as a proud Zebra! #CPSZebraPride

Our students went on a hands-on plant adventure — from digging into roots to learning about petals, and even building our own flower diagrams with real seeds! 🌻✂️🌾 Huge thanks to this awesome team for bringing such a fun and educational experience to us! 🙌

Reflecting on Ashton’s school years, she shared, “My fond memories include the years I had Ashton at Westside with me. It was such a neat experience to see him daily and watch his interactions with peers and teachers. I especially loved having him in my 5th-grade class—it was a joy to experience him as a student and witness his academic growth. I've also loved attending his many sporting events over the years, including football and track. Watching him grow as an athlete and seeing his hard work pay off has been rewarding. Sports have had such a positive impact on him.” Michelle and Ashton both recognize Mr. Boyer's influence, noting, “Mr. Boyer has had a positive impact on Ashton because he values his students and shows them respect. He invests in them and motivates them to do their best.” A Zebra since Kindergarten, Ashton has attended Westside Elementary and Claremore High School. He is a dedicated member of both the football and track teams. When asked what he’ll remember most about CPS, Ashton said, “My best memories are from my time in sports. I’ve loved the relationships I’ve built with my teammates and coaches. Going to the state semifinals in football was an amazing experience, and I’ve qualified for state in track for the past three years. That time with my team has been so much fun.” One of Michelle and Ashton’s favorite memories was having her as his 5th-grade teacher. Ashton recalled, “I was a little nervous at first, but it was an enjoyable year. She read interesting books with us, and we went on great field trips to BizTown, the movies, and skating. We had a kickball tournament at the end of the year, and my class won! I’ve also loved having her at all of my sporting events over the years.” It has been a fun and unforgettable 12 years for Ashton as a proud Zebra! #CPSZebraPride
