🦓❤🎓COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 1 Day brought to you by the Roberts!
Ms. Lea Roberts is CPS’s activity accounts coordinator and has been a staff member at CPS for 4 years. She has many fond memories from Gracie’s time at Claremore. One that always warms her heart was “seeing Gracie honor our veterans by making them cards and singing the National Anthem at Mr. Claremore and the home basketball games.” Another unforgettable moment was “seeing her receive her All-District Honor Choir 3-year Medal and her ALL STATE Honor Choir 3-year medal, as well as her fantastic performances in OKLAHOMA! and The Music Man.” She appreciates the opportunities at CHS that have allowed “Gracie not only to grow, but to thrive! Her many awards and accolades have been a testament to her hard work and dedication. It's been an amazing 4 years, and we are forever grateful to be Zebras!” She acknowledges many teachers for their impact on Gracie’s education: “Bruce Riggs has highly impacted her life, as well as Lynn Steidley, Cindy Hammack, and Ruiel Doonkeen. However, CHS is blessed with an abundance of remarkable educators, and we have been fortunate to be influenced by many!
A Zebra since freshman year, Gracie began her Zebra career at CHS. She is an active member of the Book Club, Christian Club, National Honor Society, NTC, SkillsUSA, Choir, Room 701 Vocal Jazz, and has taken difficult AP/Pre-AP courses. What Gracie will cherish most from her time at CPS will be “the wonderful people whom I have been honored to call my friends for the past four years. Everyone (both students and staff) has been so kind and encouraging throughout my high school experience, allowing me to achieve my goals and dreams!” She loved how her “mom was always there to support me at my events. Whether it was a choir concert, an engineering presentation, or singing the National Anthem at a basketball game, she would be smiling and cheering me on with a phone recording in her hand. Those are some of my favorite memories that I will treasure forever.”
Gracie and her mom are both abundantly thankful for block scheduling and the opportunities it opened up: “This has allowed Gracie and many others to take classes that have guided their life decisions. CHS is able to offer phenomenal classes and instructors that would not be possible if we were on the same schedule as most other schools. It allows the teachers to delve into the lessons and the students to work in an environment where they can ask questions.” Ms. Lea Roberts credits this style of classes for allowing Gracie to get advanced knowledge on her topics of interest: Biomedical Sciences and Engineering. As well as, granting her acceptance into both OU and OSU’s Honors Engineering program. It has been a memorable 4 years for Gracie as a Zebra!

🦓❤🎓COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 2 Days brought to you by the Evans!
Ms. Leslie Evans is a third-grade teacher at Roosa Elementary, where she is finishing up her first year. She graduated as part of Claremore’s Class of 2002. A fond memory from Emily’s time at CPS is “her meeting her best friends. She met most of her lifelong friends in elementary school. Emily is grateful for all the memories with them and all the memories to come!” She is thankful for Mrs. Hoffer’s influence on Emily’s education: “She taught her helpful skills in her art classes that will stick with her throughout her art career.”
Emily Evans has been part of the Zebra family since kindergarten at Catalayah. She then went on to WRJH and CHS - where she has been an active member of the Art Club, Young Democrats, and has taken difficult AP and concurrent courses. From her time at Claremore, she will never forget “how kind my peers are and how helpful the staff is, truly creating a family environment." She recognizes that “although my mom has not been teaching in Claremore for very long, I think it is very special that my mom’s first year teaching in Claremore is my last year attending Claremore. It makes graduating a little bit easier.” It's been a darling time for the Evans Family as part of our Zebra Dazzle!

Check out these creative kindergarteners! Mrs. Riggs' class just finished a unit on collages featuring Eric Carle. They had so much fun testing out different untraditional tools, such as cars, forks, combs, and sponges to paint. After they painted their papers, they cut them into small pieces and glued them down to create some colorful & clever collage art pictures! What amazing artists!
"I believe that children are naturally creative and eager to learn. I want to show them that learning is really both fascinating and fun." ~Eric Carle

🦓❤🎓COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 3 Days brought to you by the McGills!
Ms. Susan McGill has been a fifth-grade teacher at Westside Elementary for 24 years. She graduated from Claremore High School’s Class of 1992. She cherishes the memories from when Grace was with her at Westside. She credits Jennifer Collins, Michelle Sagely, and Kelsey Perry for their significant contributions to Grace’s educational journey.
Grace is Zebra born and bred. She has attended Claremore Public Schools since Pre-K and will graduate on the same stage as her mom did in 1992. She was involved in rigorous AP/Pre-AP courses while being active in the National Honor Society, Student Council, the Yearbook Committee, the Athletic Training program, and on the Cheer team. She has many fond memories at CPS, but the most memorable “...were my teachers. Some that stood out to me are Mrs. Perry, Mrs. Collins, Mr. Riggs, Mrs. Savage, Mrs. Bongard, and Mrs. Woods. Each of these teachers hold a very special place in my heart!”. One of her best times with her mom at CPS was “Having my mom for my teacher. The funny thing is, I was not allowed to call her mom at school - so for the whole year, she was Mrs. McGill!”

🦓❤🎓COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 4 Days brought to you by the Lakeys!
Ms. Crystal Lakey is a special education teacher at Roosa Elementary and has been a staff member at CPS for 13 years. The most memorable experience she has of Cameron’s time at CPS is “his trip to Washington DC with TSA, he got a special tour of the capitol building and came home National Champion!” She credits Mr. Isenbart, Mrs. Hammock, and Mrs. Steidley for forming Cameron’s future: “Mr. Isenbart has made a huge impact by always challenging him and giving him opportunities to grow as a leader. Mrs. Hammock and Mrs. Steidley in the pre-engineering program allowed him to discover his path and ambition”. She will always be “thankful for the opportunities that CPS has provided; every staff member has always pushed for him to be his best and challenged him when needed.”
Cameron has been a Zebra since kindergarten and has attended Roosa, WRJH, and CHS. He participates in many rigorous activities: SkillsUSA, NTC, TSA, and AP courses. He will always be grateful to our schools for allowing him to find his passion: “From my time at Claremore Public Schools, I will remember the Pre-Engineering program the most. This series of classes helped me figure out what I want to do with my life after high school.” Since his school days aligned with his mother's, his fondest memories stem from “helping her set up/take down her classroom at the beginning and end of the school year.”
