Last Friday night, we celebrated the future of Claremore Zebra football with CYFA night! Future CHS football players, cheerleaders, and dancers enjoyed partaking in the opening activities of Zebra Friday Night Lights! 🏈❤🦓 These littles were loud and proud with their #CPSZEBRAPRIDE!

Claremore Public Schools Celebrates Indigenous Peoples' Day!🧡💛🦓 Claremore is a city filled with rich Native American history. "Claremore got its beginnings when Chief Glahmo led his tribe of Osage Indians from Missouri in 1802. He soon established a fur trading post along the Verdigris River. ✈️ Empowering the Future: Junior High Girls Soar at Women in Aviation Event! ✈️ Imagine a world where the sky is not the limit but only the beginning! 🌟 That's exactly what our junior high girls from the STEM Club are discovering as they embark on an exciting journey into the world of aviation! Mrs. Rahn took WRJH STEM girls to OKC to attend the Girls in Aviation event to help inspire them to think about a FUTURE career in aviation! 🌟 We can't wait to see where their passion and dedication take them next! Let’s welcome Mr. Dustin Levesque to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature! Mr. Dustin Levesque is the Westside music teacher. He graduated from East Central University. He has taught music education for 17 years! The trumpet is his main instrument, but he can play many others! When asked what he likes about Claremore Public Schools most, he shared, “teaching at the same school that my wife and children are a part of,” Claremore really feels like family. He became a teacher because he “loves helping children find their love for music.” He is married to Jennifer, who also teaches at Westside, and they have two children who attend Claremore Public Schools as well! Some interesting facts about Mr. Levesque are he loves concerts, playing guitar, reading, and spending time with his family. Let’s welcome Ms. Melinda Lowe to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature! Ms. Lowe is an Agricultural Educator and FFA Advisor. She graduated from Oklahoma State University. This is her first year teaching! When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools most, she shared, “the welcoming staff, faculty, and school pride!.” She grew up on a beef cattle ranch in Northern California and came to Oklahoma to attend OSU. She became a teacher “to positively impact and encourage the future generation of agriculturalists, scientists, business owners, and more. It’s important to bridge the gap between farm and table while teaching students professional development skills that will take them far in life!” Some interesting facts about Ms. Lowe: she has an orange cat named Cheddar Biscuit and enjoys weightlifting! Lady Zebras Volleyball senior night ended with another Zebra win against the Salina Tigers!🦓💪🏽 Our Volleyball team has served up the competition this year! Last night was the last home game and the girls ended with a 26-7 record and are the UNDEFEATED Metro Lake Conference Champs! They are now gearing up to take that energy to Regionals next week! She graduated from Northeastern State University and has been teaching for 15 years! When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools most, she shared, “the sense of community and positive, upbeat attitude!” She chose to teach to make a difference in children's lives and give them the tools to be whatever they want to be. She has two daughters, four dogs, loves plants, and reading! Ray Bywaters, Claremore High School alum in the Class of 1969, was inducted into the Claremore Athletic Hall of Fame.🦓❤ Ray Bywaters, a gifted athlete, left an enduring legacy on the Claremore baseball team. During his three-year stint, he showcased his versatility as a catcher and outfielder while helping lead the team to two consecutive conference titles. Bywaters' senior year was marked by an extraordinary batting average of .440 and a well-deserved all-state designation, underlining his exceptional talent. His dedication to the sport earned him a scholarship to Bacone College, where he continued to shine. It's worth noting that Ray Bywaters is also the brother of Thomas Bywaters, another distinguished Claremore Athletic Hall of Fame inductee.🦓⚾ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Claremore High Students in Mrs. Schaub's class took an educational field trip to the historic Blue Whale of Catoosa. They had a guest speaker, Mr. Lee Belt who told them stories, about the history, and the construction of the Blue Whale. A fun fact they learned was Mr. Belt's first birthday party was held at the Blue Whale and the tables and patio area were built for just the occasion. Students learned a history lesson about our hometown tourist attraction and Route 66, all while eating lunch and enjoying an outdoor classroom!🐳🦓❤ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
