👋Let’s welcome Lora Siever to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature! 👩‍🏫Lora Siever is a new Pre-K special education teacher at Claremont Elementary! She graduated with a Bachelors in Elementary Education from NSU. She has been teaching since 1992. 👍When asked what she likes most about working at CPS, she said, “I love that CPS is a Great Expectations district! I feel like the faculty not only teaches the life principals but LIVES them also. I love that the students are celebrated for their achievements in the classroom and are learning character traits that will help them be successful beyond the classroom.” ♥She teaches because she believes education provides stability in life, and it’s something that can never be taken away. During the childhood development stages, the importance is stronger than ever. It’s a time for children to learn social and mental skills that will be critical for their growth and success in the future. She chose to teach at CPS because “The Zebra pride in CPS is amazing! There are high levels of collaboration and communication. Teachers and staff believe that all students can learn and meet high standards. While recognizing that some students must overcome barriers, their goals are not seen as impossible to achieve. ‼Some interesting facts about Lora is she likes to camp and loves spending time in her “She-Shed on Wheels.” Her hobbies include spending time with her four-year-old granddaughter, being outside and reading. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

←STEM at TU→ 👨‍🔬Student’s participated in various STEM challenges at the Native American STEM competition held at the University of Tulsa. 🔨Student teams built catapults, egg drop systems, sling shots and worked on problem solving challenges. Students also completed in a science poster contest over the topic of “Green Energy for the Year 2050”. ♻ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Students had the best time at BizTown! They spent several weeks preparing for their jobs and how to be good BizTown citizens. They were able to see what it looks like to have a job, spend and keep track of money and be accountable to other businesses. It was such a great day! A huge thank you to all of our parent volunteers who helped make this day possible! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Mann treated her students to Hot Chocolate after their writing prompt “How to Make Hot Chocolate." The owner of Patsy's Sno Cones paid the entire class a compliment, saying that every student was polite and appreciative. 👋Let’s welcome Stephenie Simmonds to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature! 👩‍🏫Mrs. Simmonds is a new science teacher at Will Rogers Junior High! She graduated with a Bachelors in Education from Nicholls State University and has been teaching since 2018. 👍Her favorite thing about working at Claremore Public Schools is how supportive the staff is and how they care about the students and not just their grades. Mrs. Simmonds teaches because she wants to form relationships with the students and make a difference in their lives. She wants to help them become productive members of our community. When asked why she chose to teach at CPS, she said, “I love how supportive the administration and other teachers are.” ‼Some interesting facts about Mrs. Simmonds is she used to live very close to New Orleans and fished with the alligators in the swamps. She also has a small farm with horses, chickens, ducks, 4 dogs and 2 cats. ♥Some of Mrs. Simmonds hobbies/interests include horseback riding, photography and technology. 🎵🎷Fairy tales can come true. You gotta make them happen, it all depends on you!! 2nd graders at Claremont are dancing through their Fairy Tale unit and preparing for their very first Ball! Students are learning about the different components of a Fairy Tale and the different types of dances they will do at the ball. ❓What are you thankful for today❓ 1st graders made "thankful bracelets" a couple weeks ago! They got to write down what they are thankful for and decide what color they wanted each thing to represent. Now they can wear these around as a reminder to make gratitude a part of every day! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
