The Claremore High School Mixed Choir competed in the OSSAA State Choir contest today at Tulsa Union High School and received a perfect score of 3 Superior ratings in performance and 3 Superior ratings in sight-reading. We have babies!!! Mrs. Wallis is teaching her 2nd grade class about he life cycle of a chicken. They learned that it takes 21 days for the egg to hatch and that the chicks have a special beak at birth called an "egg tooth" to help them break out of their shell. The class not only learned about the life cycle but also about the anatomy of the egg and a hen. They got to witness the egg cracking and the baby chicks being born! They learned about the incubator and the process of hatching the chicks as well as what it takes to care for the chicks after they are born. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Claremore Agriculture Education , tries to provide the most advanced tools for our students to be successful in whatever they choose. That also includes our metal fabrication classes. Earlier this year a grant was submitted for a state of the art virtual welding simulator. This simulator allows students to MIG, TIG or stick weld. It also simulates the 4 welding positions of flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead on numerous joint types. Students can choose from T joints, lap, butt, pipe on plate, pipe on pipe or beads on plate while incorporating different weave patterns. After completing the weld, it then gives them a numerical score and shows them exactly what they need to work on. A student can then step over to the actual welding booth to implement those minor changes to advance in their learning capability. This machine will also save Claremore Ag Ed from using up large amounts of consumables and expensive metal during the very beginning stages of learning how to weld while also providing a much safer working environment. Lexi Keesler's drawing advanced to the national level after winning a Scholastic Art Gold Key at the regional level. Lexi won the National Scholastic Silver Key, putting her among the top 1% of all entries. This is the highest honor an art student can achieve. Lexi is not only representing our Claremore High School but the State of Oklahoma. Her remarkable talent will only improve as she is just a freshman in Art I. We can’t wait to see how her gift develops in the next three years. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
