Lexi Keesler's drawing advanced to the national level after winning a Scholastic Art Gold Key at the regional level. Lexi won the National Scholastic Silver Key, putting her among the top 1% of all entries. This is the highest honor an art student can achieve. Lexi is not only representing our Claremore High School but the State of Oklahoma.
Her remarkable talent will only improve as she is just a freshman in Art I. We can’t wait to see how her gift develops in the next three years.

5th grade has been learning about the Energy in Food they eat. Did you know that children between the ages of 10 and 12 need a minimum of 2,200 Calories each day? Students looked at the calories and the nutritional value of different foods. Some students were shocked at how many calories were in their favorite sodas compared to the food they consume for energy.

Our Native American Club at Catalayah took advantage of the nice weather yesterday and went outside to play Game of Graces.
Graces is played with two people. Each person gets two dowel rods. Then, one of the players takes a wooden hoop and, pulling apart the two rods, sends the hoop into the air for the other player to try to catch. The winner is the player who is first to catch the hoop ten times.
The Game of Graces was a popular activity for young girls during the early 1800s. During the first quarter of the 19th century, the game was invented in France and called le jeu des graces.[1] The Game of Graces was considered a proper game – one befitting young ladies and, supposedly, one that would make them more graceful.
Graces was hardly ever played by boys and never played by two boys simultaneously; the players were always either two girls or a boy and a girl.

Have you ever tried to trap a leprechaun?
It looks like this class didn’t get the leprechauns trapped before they made a mess of the classroom, last week.
They did leave behind a cute snack before they left!!
