⚾️🦓Once a Zebra, Always a Zebra!
That Zebra Pride was displayed as the Claremore High School baseball team hosted their first annual Alumni Night. It was a special evening with former Claremore students from the Classes of 73, 93, 03, & 17. All the classes were honored, and of course Claremore’s Biggest Alumni Baseball fan, Doug Mosier! It was so special seeing all these men come back to celebrate their success as a Zebra and help us root on our current Zebras in a win over Tahlequah!

🦋🥕🥬The Springtime brings so many beautiful things and learning opportunities!
At Westside Elementary, students are learning about butterflies, caterpillars, and propagating plants! The students are developing new knowledge and skills, all while having fun! This gives them an up close and hands-on experience in the classroom that will stay with them for years to come. Who wouldn't love to watch plants and caterpillars grow while also learning?!

🤖 Over at Catalayah Elementary, the STEM Club has been learning some new skills while working on coding.
They got on Ozoblockly Shape Tracer 2, to practice coding skills! The coding program builds skills in mathematics, sequencing (steps for the robot), noticing patterns, and so much more. Students were, unknowingly to them, reinforcing skills from their academics through this program in a fun, new, and exciting way!

🌞🌳As the Oklahoma weather begins to warm up and the sun starts to shine, Claremore teachers are always looking for new ways to incorporate outdoor learning into their curriculum to provide children with a well-rounded and enriching education.
There are many benefits of getting students outside of the traditional classrooms, whether an outdoor lesson, reading a book, or just a brain break.
There has been a growing trend toward outdoor learning for elementary students in recent years. This approach to education involves taking students out of the traditional classroom setting and into the natural world to learn through hands-on experiences. In today's increasingly digital world, outdoor learning allows children to explore and appreciate the world around them, helping them develop a sense of environmental stewardship and respect for nature.
From promoting a connection with nature to improving academic outcomes, outdoor learning provides a dynamic and engaging educational experience that can benefit students in various ways. In addition to fostering a connection with nature, outdoor education helps children's health and well-being. Spending time in nature can reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and boost cognitive function.
