Ms. McCracken's 5th-grade science classes at Catalayah had so much fun during their science experiment.
The kids were given a cup with a mixture of 5 components and separated each one into a container.
They experimented with different methods to separate the components of their mixture based on their properties using magnets, colanders, cheesecloth, and coffee filters based on their properties.
They came up with some creative methods of filtration!

We LOVE to see our students excited about books!!
Once again, family and friends of our Kindergarten teachers have come together to provide a book to every student monthly. In October, they all received "How Do Dinosaurs Go to School."
Thank you, each and every person who donated to provide these students with books! It is truly one of the best investments you can make! Interested in participating? Contact, Claremont Elementary.

We are proud to introduce Westside's fundraising royalty! Our top sellers were Brennan Sather, who raised $1,628, and Finley Faulconer, who raised $3,174!
Not only do these students raise money for the school they are also learning presentation skills. All proceeds go towards the new playground we are hoping to purchase next spring. This year we raised over $11,200!
CPS continues to be blessed by the investment our community makes in our schools.

Before introducing slope, Mrs. Litterell's class did a ball drop activity to engage her student's curiosity about the subject. This learning activity allows students to discover through experiments what slope means and how to find it. Students will better understand slope after performing the ball drop activity.
