🌓The foundation for learning about fractions is fair sharing and equal groups.
🍪 Mrs. Ward's class at Catalayah read The Doorbell Rang. It’s about a mom who makes a dozen cookies for her two kids to share.
👨🏻🤝👨🏻👨🏾🤝👨🏼👨🤝👨🏼👨🤝👨👨🤝👨🏽As the story progresses more and more kids show up and they have to divide the cookies into equal groups.
🍪 Then her students practiced this skill and enjoyed some cookies!

Mrs. Howell's 2nd grade students at Claremont are learning about erosion during their land and water forms unit!
Students make hypotheses and investigate the causes of canyons. In the activity Cornmeal Canyons, students create a model landform using cornmeal. Then they drip water over this “land” to observe how water can change its shape and understand how, over long periods of time, canyons can be formed through a similar process.

⚓Claremore NJROTC took 2nd overall in the Bixby All ROTC Physical Fitness Challenge. The 5A CHS program competed against 6A powerhouse programs such as Bixby and Union. Chief Jasper shared, "We will get them next year!!"
⚓Along with the team award, Jordan P., an 8th grader member, won the 2nd place Overall Female medal. She competed against high school cadets. Although an award was not given for endurance, Chief wanted to recognize Erin O for competing in all five events.
⚓CPS Navy Junior ROTC program is designed to "Help Today's Youth Meet Life's Challenges." Our program mission is to instill in students the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. We'd say they are accomplishing their mission here at CHS.

🌟🌟 𝕊𝕦𝕡𝕡𝕠𝕣𝕥 𝕊𝕥𝕒𝕗𝕗 𝕊𝕡𝕠𝕥𝕝𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥 - 𝕄𝕣𝕤. 𝕃𝕠𝕣𝕖𝕥𝕥𝕒 𝕎𝕖𝕓𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕣 🌟🌟
Help us celebrate 41 years of serving our community - 41 years of being a Zebra!
🌟 Mrs. Loretta Webster, a humble woman who will tell you she is simply someone who continues to work hard and help her community, has, in reality, had an extraordinary impact on our school. Her commitment has spanned over two decades: 41 years of helpfulness, hard work, dedication, and commitment to our zebra family. Ms. Webster began her career with Claremore Public Schools in August of 1980 as an Aide in the first multi-handicap classroom in the district. Endearingly, she told us she misses those kids and remembers her time with them fondly. In addition to her teaching duties, she spent her summers doing any task the Superintendent asked of her: mowed the lawn, painted, cleaned buses, ect. It didn’t matter how dirty or difficult, she would do any task to help our school. This drive and selflessness allowed her to advance in various areas. After five years in the classroom, she moved to the Special Services office as a Psychometric Aide administering achievement tests. She now serves as the district Encumbrance Clerk and has been in the position for 31 years.
🌟In the past 41 years, she has served four Superintendents. Although she has fond memories of each of them, she said she has never seen such steadfast accomplishes as witnessed under Mr. Frazier’s direction. She also states how she feels like a proud mom, saying that, “He’s creating a legacy.”
🌟For someone who has been a Zebra for 41 years, pride was the one word to describe her experience. Through the seasons, “It’s always been my family.”
🌟Not only does she take pride in her career but also in her family, which consists of her two children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Her two loves came together when her children and one grandson graduated from CPS.

#CPSTechTipTuesday will demonstrate how to convert an Adobe PDF document to an editable Microsoft Word document.
PDF documents are great for sending files to individuals and keeping the formatting consistent. However, a downfall is that you cannot edit the file. Using Microsoft Word, you can open a PDF document and edit it as needed.

"No one is more cherished in this world than someone who lightens the burden of another." - Joseph Addison
These administrative professionals are indeed the glue that keeps the day-to-day of our school system together. They are the face of our school, the worker bees, the gatekeepers, the efficiency experts, the school moms to the staff, the money counters, the answer to all our questions, and the heartbeat of the District.
NOTE: Photo taken in 2020 prior to COVID protocols.

"I feel to make a difference in a child's life truly; we need to love what we are teaching. It took a year of teaching art before I experienced the explosion of creativity. It's true! After consistently engaging in art for about a year, I found it pushed my ability to build things, and my critical thinking skills were to a whole new level. I would find myself overwhelmed with things I could make and how I could achieve my goal. It built my confidence, and creating in my own world continues to enhance my life in so many ways. This personal experience is what led me to LOVE sharing the creative process with my students. Engaging in art is so powerful! It helps students develop their personal voices and ways to talk about their art with their peers. I observe this in the classroom every day. I also love how art positively affects our mood, making us happier, calmer, or even inspired to do something else. I know kids love art because before they even make it to art, they ask me every where they see me, whether it's in the halls, cafeteria, at the grocery store, or when I am on duty, "What are we doing in art this week"? They simply can not wait until class. Teaching art has added purpose and meaning to my life, and I am so grateful that being Claremont's art teacher is part of my journey as an educator."

On this #TechTipTuesday, I will demonstrate how to turn off Google Drive’s Quick Access option. Quick Access is handy when working with the same file, over and over again, but at times can get confusing or clutter the drive’s workspace. We will discuss how to turn off this feature to let you focus on what matters most - the folders and files in your Google Drive.
