Mrs. Page's 1st graders at Roosa Elementary used Cheetos to do a pollination inquiry-based experiment in class. Students learned why pollination is important and how it works by turning their fingers orange!
Every time they eat Cheetos I bet they remember this botany lesson.

Mrs. Devers 2nd grade class uses Whole Body Movement to learn their spelling words. They spell each word by making the shape of each letter with their body. This helps meet the needs of all the learning styles.

🎓 It’s May, and we know what that means… COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION!
Let’s have a little fun as we anticipate and reflect on the last 13 school years of the Class of 2021! Every morning in May, we will feature a graduation/senior photo of one of the teachers who helped build a foundation for this graduating class at CPS.

4th grade students in Mrs. Ramsey's WIN group are working on text structures: Description, Cause/Effect, Compare/Contrast, Problem/Solution, and Chronological Sequence. Students had to read a story, determine the text structure, make a graphic organizer, and then present the evidence to the group describing the text structure with story details.

Our Lady Zebra Tennis team did a little talking with their racquets and playing their hearts at the OSSAA State Tennis Tournament this weekend. That hustle and heart set them apart and allowed them to bring home some hardware.

👩⚕️👨🏽⚕️Post a photo or give a shoutout in the comments to a Zebra alum, a family member, or a friend who is a nurse!
At the end of the 19th century, "The Lady With the Lamp"— or as she is more widely known, Florence Nightingale — founded modern nursing. Thanks to her strict use of hand-washing and hygiene practices while caring for wounded soldiers in the Crimean War, Nightingale and her helpers reduced the death rate from 42% to 2% — ushering in nursing as we know it today.
Today, we recognize the vital role nurses play in our lives by celebrating National Nurses Day. There is more than maintaining medical records and making sure immunizations are up-to-date.
Thank you to the nurses who give hugs that cure the body and soul.
