Taking pride in your school is one way to show your Zebra spirit.
SkillsUSA club members took time out of their day off from school yesterday to clean up our high school campus before the Homecoming festivities begin this week. They trimmed, edged, weedeated, and picked up a ton of trash.

There is more glowing than the computer screens. Look at the wonder in those faces 😲. Each CPS elementary school has a STEM lab where students learn the basic foundations of technology, including computers, coding, and critical thinking.

NASA OKSG STEM Engagement Center's Education Coordinator had the honor of sharing moon rocks and meteorites with WRJH school students in Mrs. Rahn's class. While the moon rocks and meteorites did not make it in time for the Stuart A. Roosa Space Day community event this last Saturday, the NASA OKSG SEC made sure that Claremore students would still be able to see these national treasures!

ME IN A BAG?
Creating a community is essential to the learning environment and a classroom is the gathering place. We want all children can feel secure, nurtured and supported by the environment, each other, and the teacher. Classrooms across the district plan several activities to get to know our new classroom friends and celebrate their common interests and differences.
Mrs. Wallis' Worth Wonders at Catalayah shared their "Me In A Bag" items representing themselves with their classmates. In the process, students celebrate their individuality, build trust, gain confidence speaking in front of their new friends, and practice their interpersonal skills.

From octagonal stop signs and rectangular doors, to triangular roofs and circular wheels—shapes are everywhere. Learning shapes not only helps children identify and organize visual information, it helps them learn skills in other curriculum areas including reading, math, and science. For example, an early step in understanding numbers and letters is to recognize their shape. Learning shapes also helps children understand other signs and symbols.
Mrs. Books Curious Characters at Westside started the school year off working in groups with manipulatives to help reinforce these skills.
