The holiday may be over but we are not ready to stop celebrating last week's Thanksgiving festivities. Roosa 4th grade hosted a meal and made costumes. A tradition most of us remember from elementary school. We should certainly count our blessings, but we should also make our blessings count. -Neal A. Maxwell

An Elf appeared in Mrs. Hutchins' classroom Monday at Catalayah. The students agreed on the name "Buddy"🎄 Apparently "orange" is the new "green". Looks like Buddy used her expo marker to color the Christmas tree. Follow #elfontheshelfclaremore to see what mischief Buddy gets into this month. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Are you a crime show junkie? Do you find yourself binge-watching Law & Order, CSI, NCIS or Criminal Minds? With a plethora of crime series on TV there has been an increased interest in our Forensic Science classes. One of our students' favorite units is the Blood and Blood Spatter unit. This project students have to recreate bloodstain patterns, find the area of convergence, angle of impact, and velocity. No one here is learning "How to Get Away with Murder" but we may have the next modern-day "Sherlock Holmes" in the house. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Roosa 3rd grade read the book Balloons over Broadway by Melissa Sweet, the true story of Tony Sarg, the creator of the balloons in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The students learned how a gas makes a balloon float. They went on to created and design their own floats. The students made the balloons big by using vinegar and baking soda, which caused a gas to inflate the balloon. Here are some pictures of the students making these gases and capturing them in the balloon. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

As a family-focused school district and community, we strive to partner with parents to help ensure the success of our students. This week one of our schools hosted a Family Skate Night to build relationships to strengthen that partnership and have some fun. Mrs. Fay hopes the families had as much fun at Claremont's skate night as the teachers did!!! Congrats to Mrs. Schell's class for having the best turnout! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

The selfless act of serving others is a way to bring more joy into the world. It is a method with which to build amazing, passionate cultures within a business, within a school, within a community, within a family, within a team. Too often we can get caught up in the ideals of prestige or winning and forget that the main reason anyone is successful is because of what they have done for others. "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." ― Ralph Waldo Emerson. Claremore athletics wants to be a winning program but more importantly, we want to build citizens that win by serving others. This week the CHS baseball and softball players held a canned food drive to help stock the Rogers County Sheriff's Dept. Food Pantry. The pantry is open to anyone 24/7. CHS girls basketball helped Westside pack up food baskets for fellow Zebra families. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
