Westin Watkins showcased his skills at the Oklahoma Auctioneering Association Winter Camp & Contest—a rapidly growing event that draws contestants from across state lines, including Arkansas! Competing in his second year, Westin live-auctioned two items and was judged on various auctioneering techniques, demonstrating incredible growth and dedication to mastering his craft. Auctioneering is more than just a competition—it's a viable career path that demands confidence, clarity, and quick thinking. By participating in events like this, Westin is honing his skills for a future that could lead to exciting opportunities in business, sales, and beyond. 👏 Let’s celebrate Westin’s hard work and improvement at every contest—proof that practice makes permanent! Two of our Claremore Robotics teams performed outstandingly at the Verdigris competition, earning their spots at the state championship in March.💪🏼 🏆 High school team 9142B took home the prestigious Design Award, earning them a spot at state— in addition to their incredible qualification for the World Championship back in November as well! The team, led by co-captains Caden Fox and Chloe Reedy, includes Isaac Higgins, Dakota Choate, Eli Estrada, and Christian Sather. 🏆 Middle school team 9142K impressed with a fourth-place finish in skills, securing their place at state. This talented team is led by captain Myer Schmidt, Cooper Key, Ryan Lile, Hudson Baldwin, and Jixxer McClain. 🏆 The Design Award recognizes a team’s exceptional organization, professionalism, and mastery of the Engineering Design Process. It highlights excellence in project and time management, team coordination, and thorough documentation, evaluated through an Engineering Notebook and Team Interview. 🎉 LEAD 360: Cultivating Leaders for Tomorrow 🌟 FFA members embraced an incredible opportunity at the LEAD 360 Statewide Leadership Conference at Camp Cargill! Over the course of two days, they gained valuable leadership skills from Oklahoma’s tate FFA officers and professional speakers, all while building lifelong connections with peers from across the state. 🌟 Spotlight Moment: Our very own Meadow Hiner wowed the crowd of over 800 members by performing in the evening session talent show! These experiences are more than just a weekend retreat—they prepare our students for their futures. Meadow Hiner and fellow FFA members from the NE Area stepped up to the challenge at the Stand and Deliver Workshop—a dynamic experience focused on building confidence and sharpening public speaking skills. Through hands-on activities, members learned essential techniques like mastering “concrete feet,” delivering a firm handshake, and refining their tone to command the room. Claremore Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 12th, due to the winter weather advisory, dropping temperatures, and road conditions. We believe this is the best decision for our students, staff, and families, as their safety is our priority.
