Claremont's skate night was a wheel-y good time! 🎉 CPS loves finding ways to connect our amazing staff, students, and families, and this event was a perfect chance to build relationships outside the classroom. Seeing everyone skating, laughing, and having a wheel-y great time reminds us just how special our CPS community is! 🥰
CPS schools PreK - 8th grades have very active PTOs. Ask a staff member about your school's organization if you want to get involved.

In Ms. Fudge’s class, students experienced the power of uplifting one another during a team-building exercise. By working together and showing encouragement, they learned how positivity and support can strengthen a team. This activity ties perfectly into our Great Expectations Life Principles of kindness, cooperation, and respect, reminding us that when we lift each other up, we all rise together. Let’s continue to build each other up and spread kindness throughout our school!

Mr. Riggs engages his students with hands-on learning through heart dissections and full fetal pig autopsies. These activities allow students to thoroughly explore anatomy, gaining practical insights into organ systems and biological functions. By working directly with specimens, students develop a deeper understanding of physiology and sharpen their scientific skills.

The U.S. Army brought AS11, a remarkable 64-foot, 30-ton tractor-trailer, to our school, allowing students to participate in Operation Firebreak. This immersive experience used eight virtual reality helicopter stations, where students teamed up to tackle forest fires. Equipped with Oculus headsets and motion-actuating chairs, the simulation provided a thrilling and realistic glimpse into the challenges pilots face. This visit showcased the Army’s innovative approach to engaging and educating our community through cutting-edge technology.
Experiences like these give our students a more realistic view of the possibilities they have for their future through the armed forces. We may have a few helicopter pilots in our midst!

Claremore High School juniors and seniors recently got a firsthand look at life after high school through the OSU Up Close event! Our students connected with academic advisors, professors, and current OSU students to explore potential majors, learn about financial aid, and dive into campus life. This experience empowered them to make informed decisions about their futures while showcasing the opportunities available at OSU.
At CHS, we are dedicated to ensuring high levels of learning in ALL areas and preparing ALL students with the skills they need for future success. Experiences like this reflect our vision to encourage, empower, and educate ALL students to be lifelong learners and productive members of society.

A couple of the science classes are implementing their heat transfer lesson by cooking s'mores in solar ovens they designed themselves! Using their knowledge of thermal energy, students built efficient ovens and are now gathering data, creating graphs, and analyzing the results. And, of course, they’ll enjoy a tasty treat afterward!

🎃🍂 There are many "firsts" in kindergarten, but these kids will always remember their first field trip.
Our kindergarteners had a blast on their first-ever field trip to the pumpkin patch! From hay rides and navigating the corn maze to bouncing on the giant pillow and feeding the farm animals, it was a day full of smiles and fall fun! 🍁🍂
They even wrapped the adventure with a picnic lunch under the autumn sky. These little Zebras made unforgettable memories today! 🐾🎉

The Native American Student Association attended the Native American Day Celebration, immersing themselves in cultural activities and traditions. Students could participate in traditional dances, learn about blowgun techniques, and engage with various businesses. These interactions provided valuable insights into educational and career opportunities, specifically for Native American students.
Ask your counselors or principal about the Native American Club at your school.

Coach Thorne wrapped up her unit on The Crucible with her English III students by organizing an escape room that allows students to engage with the key themes and plot points of the play in an interactive and collaborative way. Students worked in small groups to solve a series of puzzles and challenges, all related to characters, themes, and important quotes from the play. Each task required critical thinking, teamwork, and a deeper analysis of The Crucible. The final challenge involved unlocking a hidden "message" that tied back to the lessons learned from the text. The students were enthusiastic, and the activity sparked great discussions afterward.

During National School Lunch Week, our cafeterias transformed into pirate coves to celebrate the importance and value of school lunch! 🏴☠️🦜 Each kitchen hosted a coloring contest, and we had several submissions! Even though the festivities are over, every day, we acknowledge the value of school lunches and celebrate our ability to provide them! 🦓♥

In Digital Video Editing, students are discovering how the principles of still photography seamlessly translate into shooting video. As they wrap up the Photography unit with the Shutter Speed lab, they learn how controlling motion—whether freezing it or creating intentional blur—applies to photography and video production. Understanding these techniques helps students create dynamic video content, capturing action with purpose and precision. Check out some of the amazing images they took during the lab, showcasing their mastery of motion and creativity!
