⛵️ Navy JROTC Sails into Success! ⛵️
Our Navy JROTC cadets recently attended the Sailing Academy at Tsa La Gi Yacht Club on Fort Gibson Lake! They had an amazing time learning the ropes on small and medium-sized sailboats. 🚤
Throughout the two-day course, our cadets mastered new nautical terminology, teamwork, and leadership skills, perfectly preparing them for their upcoming roles and the American Sailing Association (ASA) 101 test.
A huge thank you to the Tsa La Gi Yacht Club for hosting and a big congratulations to our newest certified Navy JROTC sailors! 🌊⚓ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🦓 Lauri (Larkin) Titsworth
🏫 Gifted & Talented Teacher
🎓Zebra Alumni: 1987
❤What has been your favorite part about returning as a staff member?
There are many things I love about CPS. One of my favorite things to witness is staff and students interact using the principles of Great Expectations. Having been at CPS for most of my career, I am very proud of the connections I've built within the community. Taking part in the lives of students and families is impactful.
💭What is one of your favorite memories from being a CPS student?
My very favorite school memories took place at Claremont Elementary. Our principal was Andy Hogan, our librarian was Mrs. Galbraith, and I adored every one of my classroom teachers.
👩🏻🏫What was your favorite class, or who was your favorite teacher?
After my elementary teachers, my favorite high school instructors were Mr. Don and Mrs. Marty Fox. She taught me to type, and he was my junior honors history instructor. Mr. Fox challenged me to display my full potential.
📣What was your favorite extracurricular?
Being extremely shy, I didn't participate much in clubs.
⭐What was trending when you graduated? Clothes, songs, movies, etc.
Wall. Computers were becoming more affordable, although it would be a few years before I owned one personally. The #1 song was "Walk Like an Egyptian" by The Bangles, but I had my eye on a new country singer, George Strait. One of my favorites among trends is that nearly everyone dressed up for school. The bright colors, padded shoulders, ankle boots with double socks, and chunky jewelry were some of my go-to's. I regret that the clothing was extremely oversized! We had fun times dating, dragging Main (Claremore was THE DESTINATION on Friday and Saturday nights), attending football and basketball games, and seeing movies. It was a great time to be a teenager!
