Michelle Kagebein is a Special Education Resource teacher at Westside Elementary. She graduated from East Central University with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. This is her first year teaching as a Zebra, but has been teaching for 23 years!

What is your favorite part about being a Zebra? “My favorite part about being a zebra is helping my peers and younger students with their education paths and always being a shoulder to lean on. Being a zebra has allowed me to have a big heart and I love being able to help people and being there if someone just needs a person to talk to.”

There’s nothing like a victory to make breakfast taste even sweeter! After their big win, our Zebras were treated to a delicious breakfast casserole and cinnamon rolls from Front Porch Bakery, topped off with their favorite chocolate milk from Swan’s Dairy. Cooking with Classen 🍪
During the first week back to school at Westside Elementary, Mrs. Classen's class read "The Kissing Hand," a book about Chester the Raccoon, who is missing his parents at the beginning of the school year. The book encourages students to be courageous and take on new challenges.
When her class finished this project, they all got to make sugar cookie hands with chocolate kisses in the middle. An inspiring lesson with a sweet treat!🦓🍪 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
