Happy retirement to Perry Cagle! Mr. Cagle has dedicated 32 years of his life to Claremore Public Schools. In the comments, let's give him a virtual 👏 ovation for his years of service. 🍎 What school are you currently teaching at for CPS? Claremore High School 🍎 What year did you start teaching for CPS, and at what school? 1992, Claremore Junior High 🍎 How many years were you a CPS employee? 32 years 🍎 How many years have you been in education? 37 years 🍎 What are you most proud of in your time at CPS? Watching my 3 kids graduate and go on to college and be successful. Hopefully, I have impacted most students I have interacted with in class or athletics. 🍎What will you take from your experience here at CPS into this next season of life? I have memories of students saying thank you in the classroom, of coaching, and of just being able to help students believe in themselves a little more to be successful. That one kind, positive, or encouraging word may be all they need to get through the day. 🍎 What are the memories you will take with you? I love it when students win scholarships or awards that I had in class or athletics. Maybe I had a little to do with that accomplishment. 🍎 What advice would you give a new teacher? It is hard sometimes, but the good you will do is very rewarding. 🍎How do you hope your students remember you? Just as a very fair person who they knew really liked to teach. 🍎What are your plans after retirement? I plan to spend time with my wife doing whatever she wants to do, a little bit of travel, and some of the things that she wants to do. She has been a blessing to me for the 45 years that I have known her and the 44 years we have been married. I also plan to work at the farm with the cattle, fishing, and hunting. 🍎 What does it mean to be a Zebra to you? It has been almost half of my life. When Mr. Blevins hired me, he told me, Perry, you will really like it. He told me he could tell that I was passionate about what I was doing in my life as a Husband, Parent, Coach, and Teacher. On earth, that would be a wonderful way to be remembered. I appreciate the many people I have worked with over the years. My friends will be missed, but I will keep in contact. I hope people consider me a good person who represents OUR school. It is Our school and a lifelong special HONOR known as a ZEBRA. #cpszebrapride

Happy retirement to Christy Province! Mrs. Province has dedicated 26 years of her life to Claremore Public Schools and students within the Alternative Learning program. In the comments, let's give her a virtual 👏ovation for her years of service. 🍎 What school did you begin teaching at for CPS? Claremore Alternative Learning 🍎 What year did you start teaching for CPS, and at what school? 1998 was my first year in education and at Claremore Public Schools. 🍎 How many years were you a CPS employee? 26 years 🍎 How many years have you been in education? 26 years 🍎 What are you most proud of in your time at CPS? I am proud that we have a district that prioritizes reaching students at risk of dropping out of high school. I am proud when I think about all the students I have seen go through our doors and now have beautiful, happy, productive lives. 🍎What will you take from your experience here at CPS into this next season of life? One thing I will take from teaching is that I do not know what kind of day, night, or morning someone may have. People, day to day, are fighting horrendous battles. That one kind, positive, or encouraging word may be all they need to get through the day. 🍎 What are the memories you will take with you? 🍎 What advice would you give a new teacher? Teaching is hard. Kids can be hard. Don't take it personally when they might take it out on you. Know your subject. Always be open to learning new and creative teaching methods. 🍎How do you hope your students remember you? I hope my students remember me as someone who knew and understood their struggles. Someone who believed in them and supported them through it all. 🍎What are your plans after retirement? When I retire, I plan to spend much time with family, travel a little, enjoy some of my hobbies, and do volunteer work. 🍎 What does it mean to be a Zebra to you? Being a Zebra means we fight for every child. #cpszebrapride

What a week we've all had. It made our Zebra hearts smile to see and connect with our Claremont families. Several teachers caught the Zebra Eats bus to check in on their students as they delivered lunches. The mobile deliveries will continue this week. Zebra Eats... lunch delivery is for anyone 18 years and under. The Zebra bus will pass out lunch starting at 11:30 AM on the corner of 10th and Choctaw and will travel up and down each block between Choctaw and Dorothy across Hwy 20. The bus will stop at the end of each block. This is part of our federal seamless summer lunch program. You do not have to attend CPS. If you have questions, contact jragland@claremore.k12.ok.us or call 918-923-4265. #cpszebrapride

Future Friday🏫🎓 $2 , 4 5 5 , 4 1 0 That is the amount of scholarships the Class of 2024 reported receiving this year. Fifteen CPS Seniors received $1,000 each from the Bluejacket Scholarship Fund, totaling 15 scholarships and a $15,000 investment. Pictured representing their college of choice is: 🔴 Rogers State University: Layne Rice & Jayce Rice 🔴 Oklahoma State University: Payton Roberts, Madison Ferrel, Mason Erstad & Zachary Hinds 🔴 Baylor University: Andrew Mason 🔴 University of Oklahoma: Meredith Andrews, Mason Pixley, Jared Young & Gracie Roberts 🔴University of Arkansas: David Ryals & Linden Humphrey 🔴University of Tulsa: Abbey Henderickson & Gannon Riggs The Bluejacket Scholarship was established by Donald and Estelle Bluejacket and is administered by the Claremore Public Schools Foundation. Having no children of their own, they arranged to leave a lasting gift to Claremore students. It was the Bluejacket's wish to give back to Claremore students in a meaningful and lasting way. In 2005, their estate was given to the Claremore Public Schools Foundation to invest for future Claremore students' generations. 2007 Sam and Hazel Lessley contributed substantially to the Bluejacket Scholarship endowment. The Bluejackets directed the Claremore Public Schools Foundation to award scholarships to students "with proven records of academic achievement." #CPSZEBRAPRIDE #FutureFriday

Students in Mrs. Rahn’s STEM class had to plan, design, build and test a lunar lander that carried a rover with a payload of an “Eggstronaut” all while staying within a budget. Each straw, plastic bottle or piece of tape had a cost. The winning team’s egg survived the drop and rolled the furthest while spending the least amount of money! They learned that engineers not only design but also stay within a budget!🥼🚀🦓 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
