🦓❤🎓COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 3 Days brought to you by the McGills! Ms. Susan McGill has been a fifth-grade teacher at Westside Elementary for 24 years. She graduated from Claremore High School’s Class of 1992. She cherishes the memories from when Grace was with her at Westside. She credits Jennifer Collins, Michelle Sagely, and Kelsey Perry for their significant contributions to Grace’s educational journey. Grace is Zebra born and bred. She has attended Claremore Public Schools since Pre-K and will graduate on the same stage as her mom did in 1992. She was involved in rigorous AP/Pre-AP courses while being active in the National Honor Society, Student Council, the Yearbook Committee, the Athletic Training program, and on the Cheer team. She has many fond memories at CPS, but the most memorable “...were my teachers. Some that stood out to me are Mrs. Perry, Mrs. Collins, Mr. Riggs, Mrs. Savage, Mrs. Bongard, and Mrs. Woods. Each of these teachers hold a very special place in my heart!”. One of her best times with her mom at CPS was “Having my mom for my teacher. The funny thing is, I was not allowed to call her mom at school - so for the whole year, she was Mrs. McGill!” #cpszebrapride

🦓❤🎓COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 4 Days brought to you by the Lakeys! Ms. Crystal Lakey is a special education teacher at Roosa Elementary and has been a staff member at CPS for 13 years. The most memorable experience she has of Cameron’s time at CPS is “his trip to Washington DC with TSA, he got a special tour of the capitol building and came home National Champion!” She credits Mr. Isenbart, Mrs. Hammock, and Mrs. Steidley for forming Cameron’s future: “Mr. Isenbart has made a huge impact by always challenging him and giving him opportunities to grow as a leader. Mrs. Hammock and Mrs. Steidley in the pre-engineering program allowed him to discover his path and ambition”. She will always be “thankful for the opportunities that CPS has provided; every staff member has always pushed for him to be his best and challenged him when needed.” Cameron has been a Zebra since kindergarten and has attended Roosa, WRJH, and CHS. He participates in many rigorous activities: SkillsUSA, NTC, TSA, and AP courses. He will always be grateful to our schools for allowing him to find his passion: “From my time at Claremore Public Schools, I will remember the Pre-Engineering program the most. This series of classes helped me figure out what I want to do with my life after high school.” Since his school days aligned with his mother's, his fondest memories stem from “helping her set up/take down her classroom at the beginning and end of the school year.” #cpszebrapride

🦓❤🎓COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 5 Days brought to you by the Mudds! Mr. David Mudd is the assistant principal at Claremont Elementary. He has been a staff member at CPS for 8 years. Mrs. Vanessa Mudd, CPS’s technology instructional specialist, shares her fondest memory from Nick’s time at Claremore: “Ms. Moss once told me about a time when she came into the building with a handful of devices, and Nick came and opened the door for her. Hearing that he’s being a gentleman makes my heart happy.” They are both grateful for Mrs. Huddleston’s role in shaping Nick into the student and person he is today. Nicholas Mudd kicked off his Zebra career as a seventh-grader at the junior high before continuing on to CHS. During high school, he was an active member of the Art Club and enjoyed taking visual art classes. His dad and stepmother encouraged this passion and displayed his artwork everywhere they could. He shares that one time when he went to visit Vanessa, the art he made was displayed sideways - allowing them both a good laugh! His favorite memories stem from these programs: “I have enjoyed my Graphic Design class. It allowed me the opportunity to make stickers for prom, business cards for several of the clubs, and design a logo for a shirt.” He will forever cherish his “father and stepmother for helping me get ready for prom, and then running around town with me to get pictures before I had to leave.” It's been a memorable 6 years for Nicholas as part of our Zebra Dazzle! #cpszebrapride

Her fondest memories of Brenlyn’s time at CPS stem from the athletic opportunities she had access to at the high school. She reminiscences when “Brenlyn represented the Claremore swim team in competitions and on the homecoming court. She qualified and placed at Swim State for 3 years.” She credits Coach Bennett for the significant difference he made in Brenlyn’s education: “He was not only one of Brenlyn's teachers, but he also took the initiative to know her as a person and truly showed an interest in her life.” A Zebra since freshman year, Brenlyn has attended and impacted CHS. 🦓❤️🎓COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 8 Days brought to you by the Faulconers! Ms. Sommer Faulconer is the physical education teacher at Westside Elementary, where she has taught for 13 years. A cherished memory she has from Peyton’s time at school was when he “was the top runner in running club for several years at Catalayah.” She recognizes Ms. Jeannie Seidel for the drastic role she had in shaping Peyton’s future. Peyton began his journey as a Zebra in kindergarten at Catalayah Elementary, later going to WRJH and CHS. He was a diligent member of the Christian Club, Young Republicans, and the Career Development program. Like his mother, Peyton’s precious memories are rooted in “being involved in the running club at Catalayah Elementary. Catalayah’s running club sparked my love for setting and achieving goals, setting me on a path of growing my work ethic to make me the person I am today.” A special moment he had at the high school was “when my dad, Jeff Faulconer, started ZTV, I had the opportunity to be in one of the lip dubs.” The place the Faulconers hold within our Zebra Family will last indefinitely; after all - Once a Zebra, Always a Zebra! #cpszebrapride
