Oklahoma Oil & Natural Gas has selected our very own Mr. Riggs as one of the top 20 teachers of the year out of more than 1,000 nominees! 🍎🦓
Mr. Riggs always puts forth a positive attitude and is deeply committed to the success of our students and their well-being. He expresses his dedication through his engaging lessons and hands-on learning. His overall devotion to our students and our Zebra family is just one of the many reasons he was rewarded with this honor. 🏆
Congratulations, Mr. Riggs!! We are lucky to have you! ❤🎉 #cpszebrapride

At Will Rogers Junior High, Mrs. Hammack's class is getting a real-life science lesson! They examined owl pellets and matched bones to the animals they came from. It takes patience, attention to detail, and critical thinking to piece together the puzzle- but how rewarding when they figure it out! This is one science experience the students won't forget!❤🦉🔬

For Read Across America week, our junior high art students drew the Cat in the Hat! That sounds like a fun and creative way to celebrate Read Across America Week! Dr. Seuss's "The Cat in the Hat" is such a classic children's book, and it's great to see students using their artistic skills to bring the story to life. ✏💘📚

Congratulations to Coach Mike Larimer on being inducted into the Oklahoma Tennis Coach Association Hall of Fame. A longtime coach and educator, Larimer has dedicated 28 years to coaching boys' and girls' tennis at the high school level in Oklahoma, with the last 23 years at Claremore.
He grew up in Ponca City, where he played various sports, but found his passion for tennis around age 12. During high school, he played for “Big Daddy” (Steve Larimer) at East Junior High before transitioning to varsity tennis, displaying skill despite tough competition. While attending the University of Oklahoma, he briefly pursued tennis but later shifted his career to teaching and coaching after House Bill 1017 was passed. His coaching career saw successes, including memorable moments such as having many Meto Lake Conference titles, Regional titles, numerous State placers, and All-Staters.
Throughout his years of coaching, his main goal was he wanted his players to play extremely hard, make no excuses, have some fun on the journey, keep it in the green, and represent Claremore with class. Despite his accolades, Larimer remains humble, attributing his success to his players and the friendships cultivated throughout his years of service in Oklahoma's high school tennis community. Congratulations, Coach Larimer!🎾🦓❤
