Among the many individuals preparing for life after graduation is Alexis Keesler, a CHS student pursuing a career in education. Alexis shares her journey toward a career in filmmaking and media.
She shared that her time at EAST has been a pivotal journey focused on hands-on learning. Motivated by her love for filmmaking, she joined to explore videography within a school environment. Beyond technical skills, EAST helped her overcome social challenges, enhancing her communication abilities. It provided vital workforce skills like organization and networking alongside a sense of civic responsibility through community projects. As she prepares for life post-high school, she is thankful for her comprehensive understanding of video production and editing, along with her certification in Premiere Pro. She shared with potential EAST students that it's not just a STEM class but a dynamic environment where you tackle real-world challenges. Westside Elementary 5th graders participated in a music lesson with Joey Duffy from the Tulsa-based rock band, Cliffdiver. Joey talked about his musical influences, recording music, and what it's like to be in a band traveling the country playing music.
The kids got to ask lots of questions and had a great time hearing some amazing stories.

Gabriella's advice for prospective students is the importance of balancing classroom studies with practical experience and fostering positive relationships. Earlier this year, 8 dedicated Claremore FFA officers embarked on an enriching journey to the Lead 360 Leadership Conference at Camp Cargill, fueled by enthusiasm and a keen readiness to dive into two days of intensive leadership development. This immersive conference was designed to enhance their leadership abilities and deepen their understanding of the myriad opportunities FFA offers. As they navigated through various workshops and activities, these students were on a quest to forge new memories and friendships, laying a solid foundation for their future endeavors.
The connection between leadership skills and success cannot be overstated. By focusing on developing these essential skills, the Claremore FFA officers prepare themselves to be effective leaders in their communities and beyond.
