🦓🎓❤COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 14 Days brought to you by the Scotts!
Ms. Meredith Scott is a special education paraprofessional at Claremont Elementary and has been a staff member at CPS for 3 years. She graduated from Claremore High School Class of 2000. Her favorite part of Kennedi’s time at school “was watching her overall growth while she was attending CHS.” She acknowledges Mr. Castillo for the significant difference he made in Kennedi’s education: “By being an amazing role model for all the kids at CHS, he is very understanding and easy for her to communicate with.”
A Zebra since freshman year, Kennedi has attended and made an impact on CHS. Her fondest memories are traced back to all the school-hosted functions: “By attending the school events (football games, prom, etc.), I felt more involved and was able to form lasting positive experiences.” Her favorite memory with her mom at the high school was “always having her help getting ready for school events and hearing about her past experiences at CHS, where she did the same things I am doing.”

🦓❤🎓COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 15 Days brought to you by Laura and Jeremiah!
Ms. Laura Sargent joined the Zebra family this year as a paraprofessional at Catalayah Elementary. Though her time as a Zebra has been short, it's been full of many special moments. She is grateful for the opportunities available to Jeremiah, allowing him to fulfill his passion: “His time in the high school band has allowed him to be involved in the community by performing at events like Dickens on the Boulevard. He has participated in various band-related events over the last two years, which has allowed him to make many memories!” In the two years Jeremiah has been a Zebra, he has formed lasting connections with his teachers. Specifically, “Mr. Mudd and Mrs. Acord have both made a significant difference in my child's education and time here at Claremore Public Schools. If not for these amazing band teachers, Jeremiah would not have had the opportunity to experience all that he has.”
Jeremiah began CHS in his junior year. He is a phenomenal musician for the concert, jazz, and marching bands - always repping his Zebra Pride. His special memories from his time at school stem from his activities with the band on their trip to Florida. Similarly, a precious moment he has with his mom is when they spent time together during the Band’s Senior Night. It's been a short but memorable time for Jeremiah as part of our Zebra Dazzle.

🦓❤🎓COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 16 Days brought to you by the Andrews.
Mrs. Jill Andrews is an English teacher at CHS, where she has taught for 19 years. She graduated from Claremore High School Class of 1993 and her husband in 1994. Throughout Meredith’s high school career, Mrs. Andrews has had the opportunity to guide her through this chapter of her life as her ZAP advisor. She loved celebrating Meredith's birthdays at lunch each year by “always bringing a cake with candles to the cafeteria and making everyone in the vicinity sing happy birthday!” She credits Ms. Crystal Luginbill for her impact in shaping Meredith’s future: “Crystal Luginbill was Meredith's AP Language and Composition teacher during her junior year. Mrs. Luginbill is not only a good teacher, but she is an incredibly kind human being. She values her students as people and shows each and every student the respect they deserve. Meredith has killed it in her Comp I and II concurrent classes at RSU due to what she learned in Mrs. Luginbill's AP Lang course. The skills Meredith gained in Mrs. Luginbill's class are valuable skills that will be truly beneficial to her as she pursues her education at OU.”
Meredith began her journey as a Zebra in kindergarten at Roosa, later going to WRJH and CHS. She is active in many programs and organizations at the high school, truly leaving her mark. These include AP courses, Concurrent Courses, Class Officer, FUZE, National Honor Society, Red Army, Spirit Squad, SAGA, World Language Club, Young Democrats, ZUAC, Athletics, and the Career Development program. Her favorite part of attending CHS is “all of the fun activities that are offered to students here; these events and activities are the reasons CHS is a fun learning environment.” Mirroring her mom's, Meredith’s most memorable moments with her mom are “all of my birthdays when she would come and surprise me in the lunchroom with a cake and candles.”
Not only does Meredith have Zebra lineage, but she also has Sooner lineage! She will be attending OU in the fall as a third-generation Sooner. It has been a wonderful 13 years as a Zebra!

🦓❤🎓COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - 17 Days brought to you by Coach Billy Willard and Gage Deckard!
Mr. Billy Willard has been a teacher and coach at WRJH for 2 years. His fondest memories with Gage stem from his passion for coaching: “Having the opportunity to coach Gage on the football field was surreal. His senior year is a year I will never forget. We made the Semi-Finals and Gage was an All-State Football Player.” He treasures the unforgettable mentors that have formed Gage into the individual he is today: “Gage talks about all of his coaches in football and track. Everyone in the athletic department has made a huge impact on Gage, and I am very appreciative of that. I can not just name one person, there are too many who have made an impact on his life.”
A Zebra since PreK, Gage has attended Westside, Catalayah, WRJH, and CHS. He is an athlete for Zebra Football, Track and a student in the Career Development program. In tune with this, “going to the Football Semi-Finals his senior year” is a remarkable memory from school that Gage will never forget. It was especially special to him because throughout that journey, he was coached by his step-dad Coach Willard, who was there to push him to success. ❤🦓

18 days until graduation! Today's Countdown to Graduation features Mrs. Cass Huddleston and her grandson David Ryals. 🦓❤🎓
Mrs. Cass Huddleston is a teacher at Claremore High School. She has been a teacher in our Zebra family for 24 years. She graduated from Claremore High School Class of 1976. When recalling a special moment she holds close from David’s time at the high school, she reminiscences on “When David was a freshman in Mrs. Savage’s speech class, the class consisted of many upperclassmen. As she does with all her students in that class, on his birthday, the class gathered around him and sang Happy Birthday. She took a picture of him and sent it to me. The smile on his face expressed such joy, on the face of this shy boy from Justus-Tiawah embracing the welcoming family environment.” She acknowledges a few teachers for their significance in David’s education: “Mrs. Steidley, Mrs. Hammack, and Mr. Cummings all have been especially significant, believing in him and stretching him not only academically, but helping him step out of his comfort zone and take on some roles that will help him in life way beyond CHS.”
David Ryals kicked off his Zebra Career in first grade at Westside Elementary. After attending Justus-Tiawah for middle school, he returned to his Zebra roots at the high school and will be graduating on the same stage as his grandma and mom did in 1976 and 2002. At the high school, he is a well-rounded student - participating in a plethora of activities: Chemistry Club, Christian Club, FUZE, Math Club, the Native American Student Association, NTC, SkillsUSA, SADD, Student Council, Young Democrats, Young Republicans, the Academic Team, the Career Internship Program, and takes arduous AP and pre-AP courses. To him, the best part of being a Zebra is that “Claremore engages in a variety of activities, all with the goal of working to create a community that is both outgoing and friendly. What is the greatest part of Claremore? The uplifting family they create extends beyond our time at their schools and contributes to enrich a lifetime.” David is beyond grateful for Cass’s guidance and kindness throughout his time at school: “Mrs. Huddleston, my grandmother, was my school commuter for my early years at the high school. For many days, I remember sitting in her room, talking with her, engaging in conversation, working on homework, telling jokes, or laughing about the day ahead. I cherish these moments because I had someone to talk to—a member of my family who had acquaintances in my place of education—and knowledge about the ever-increasing list of school events. I am forever grateful for how she pushed me, both academically and socially, as I would not be the person I am without her.”
