The Bluejacket Scholarship was established by Donald and Estelle Bluejacket and is administered by the Claremore Public Schools Foundation. Having no children of their own, they arranged to leave a lasting gift to Claremore students. It was the Bluejacket's wish to give back to Claremore students in a meaningful and lasting way.
In 2005, their estate was given to the Claremore Public Schools Foundation to invest for future Claremore students' generations.
2007 Sam and Hazel Lessley contributed substantially to the Bluejacket Scholarship endowment. The Bluejackets directed the Claremore Public Schools Foundation to award scholarships to students "with proven records of academic achievement."

Students in Mrs. Rahn’s STEM class had to plan, design, build and test a lunar lander that carried a rover with a payload of an “Eggstronaut” all while staying within a budget.
Each straw, plastic bottle or piece of tape had a cost. The winning team’s egg survived the drop and rolled the furthest while spending the least amount of money! They learned that engineers not only design but also stay within a budget!🥼🚀🦓

❤What has been your favorite part about returning as a staff member?
The atmosphere and culture. You won’t find a better group of people! I didn’t get the opportunity to go to elementary school in the district, so returning to work at Roosa has been so fun and rewarding. I work with amazing people who are molding and shaping our mini zebras. I’m so grateful to play a small part in that.
💭What is one of your favorite memories from being a CPS student?
As many people know, I had an emergency liver transplant during my senior year at CHS. My favorite memory was returning to school for the first time post-transplant and being greeted by all of the warm, friendly faces of my friends and teachers - some of which I had never even had in class. CPS surrounded my family and me during that time, and it is something I will forever cherish.
👩🏻🏫What was your favorite class or teacher?
I plead the fifth because I’m Facebook friends with a lot of them now. :)
⭐What was trending when you graduated? Clothes, songs, movies, etc.

The back-to-school breakfast and meeting at the PAC, where the band plays the fight song, are always fun and exciting, and they really get me excited to start the year!
💭What is one of your favorite memories from being a CPS student?
I remember being in kindergarten at Roosa with Mrs. Steidley, and we made gingerbread man cookies. The next day we came to class and “someone” had stolen them. We had to go around the school to find them, and I remember being so mad when we found our cookies in the principal’s office. I mean, how dare she?! She’s supposed to be a role model! Now I find this memory funny and sweet of our teacher coming up with this fun way to meet and remember all the staff members around the school we encountered that day.
👩🏻🏫What was your favorite class or teacher?
Mrs. Mary Marshall, my First-grade teacher whose class I returned to and shadowed as a high school student when she taught kindergarten or pre-k.
