Continuing the celebration of our Assistant Principals by giving a shoutout to our dynamic duo at Will Rogers Junior High who are making waves in the lives of our young learners! Thank you Mrs. Luginbill and Mr. Worthington, for your tireless dedication, guidance, and positive impact on our students' journey to success!🎉❤🦓 #cpszebrapride
📚What is the best advice you've ever been given?
Mr. Worthington: "You can only control what you can control, don't get worked up about what you can't."
Mrs. Luginbill: "The best advice that I have ever been given is this: "Other people's opinion of you is not your business. Be the best version of yourself, and that's all you can do."
💞What do you want the community and families to know about CPS?
WRJH - Mr. Worthington: “There is a small community feel with programs and opportunities that you would find in a huge district.”
WRJH - Mrs. Luginbill: “I love CPS because it is a district large enough to offer activities and clubs for almost every category, yet small enough to have a warm, hometown feel. It's always a great day to be a Zebra!”
♥What's your favorite memory since becoming an Asst. Principal at CPS?
Mr. Worthington: "Earning Great Expectations Model School status."
Mrs. Luginbill: "My favorite memory since becoming an Asst. Principal has been wheelbarrow-racing the kids and playing games with them during our GE assemblies."
🖍If you were a crayon, what color would you be and why?
Mr. Worthington: "Green, I enjoy nature."
Mrs. Luginbill: "If I were a crayon, I would be the color "Sunshine Yellow" because it is bright and cheery."

Let's hear it for our incredible trio of high school Assistant Principals on National Assistant Principals Day! From guiding students through academic challenges to fostering personal growth and leadership skills, your impact extends far beyond the school as you prepare them for adulthood. Thank you for your unwavering dedication, mentorship, and for shaping the future leaders of tomorrow!❤🦓🎉 #cpszebrapride
💞What do you want the community and families to know about CPS?
CHS - Mr. Warren: “Claremore is big enough to have a world of opportunities like you would expect in a large school while still being small enough to feel like family. When the time comes my daughter will attend Claremore. I can think of no higher praise than to say I trust this organization with my child.”
CHS - Mr. Grisham: “We truly care about every student and family. We value our partnership with parents and family members to deliver the best education for our students. We set high standards for all and believe each day is a new opportunity to learn and grow.”
CHS - Mrs. Lee: “Claremore is the perfect size for someone who doesn’t want to attend a small school or get lost in a large school. We have a variety of academic courses for students to choose from that may set them on career paths they are interested in. We have sports opportunities, liberal arts opportunities, and a variety of clubs to choose from. CPS is a district where teachers, staff, and administrators truly care about the child as a whole.”
📚What is the best advice you've ever been given?
Mr. Grisham: “The best advice I was given was: Do your best, do the right thing, show people you care!”
Mrs. Lee: “The best advice I have ever been given was given to me as a high school student. That advice was that my current situation didn’t define my future.”
Mr. Warren: “If you can't respect the person, respect the rank.”
♥What's your favorite memory since becoming an Asst. Principal at CPS?
Mr. Grisham: “My favorite memory since becoming an assistant principal at CHS is when I got to hand my daughter Justine her diploma at graduation.”
Mrs. Lee: “I have two favorite memories. One is attending Mr. Micah’s prom during my first year as assistant principal. The second memory happened this year on Thanksgiving night when the football team practiced under the lights. How the community came out and supported our kids was very special!”
Mr. Warren: “I have had so many great memories in my short time here. I would say that I have never felt so appreciated by a staff before. My favorite memory is the feeling of appreciation I get pretty much every day.”
🖍If you were a crayon, what color would you be and why?
Mr. Grisham: “If I were a crayon, I would be GREEN. The reason is it is my favorite color.”
Mrs. Lee: “If I were a crayon, I would be light blue. I would pick light blue because I think it’s calming and peaceful.”
Mr. Warren: “Rainbow. If my 4-year-old daughter has taught me anything, the perfect color is rainbow.”

It’s Zebra Friday, folks.🤠

📚What is the best advice you've ever been given?
Westside - Mrs. Ratcliff: “If you make eye contact with someone, smile.” - Mrs. Boyle, my kindergarten teacher.
Catalayah - Mrs. Basks: “Be Yourself.” “This advice has stuck with me because it reminds me to embrace my uniqueness and individuality.”
Claremont - Mr. Mudd: “Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.”
Roosa - Mr. Crum: “God's grace is sufficient in you, and His power is made perfect in all weakness.”
💞What do you want the community and families to know about CPS?
Roosa - Mr. Crum: “I've told numerous people I love CPS's size. It is big enough to offer students so many different things yet small enough that students can participate and thrive in multiple activities.”
Claremont - Mr. Mudd: “Claremore Public Schools offers clean, well-maintained cutting-edge facilities and innovative programs, positioning itself as the top choice for families in the area seeking a forward-thinking, challenging educational environment for their children.”
Catalayah - Mrs. Basks: “Claremore Public Schools believes in nurturing academic growth, fostering a supportive community where students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. CPS teachers and staff are committed to providing an outstanding learning environment that inspires curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity.”
Westside - Mrs. Ratcliff: “Here are so many opportunities to succeed in Claremore from academics to athletics, to the arts, STEM, & ultimately college/career readiness. It’s not like this everywhere & I’m grateful my own kids get the opportunity for such a wide range to find their place & personal success with people who pour into them daily.”
♥What's your favorite memory since becoming an Asst. Principal at CPS?
Westside - Mrs. Ratcliff: “I honestly think when Mr. Frazier called & offered me the position. It was so unexpected & I felt seen, I felt so much gratitude & motivated to bring all I knew to bring each day to our team & our kids at Westside. But year two has been great as a whole & I’m thankful for it.”
Catalayah - Mrs. Basks: “Being an assistant principal in the school where I taught has been an honor. Although becoming an admin in a school you taught can be challenging, it has been such a great experience getting to know all the students and teachers. Mrs. Shuck saw something in me and encouraged me to go through the steps to become an administrator. It has been a privilege to work with her at Claremont and Catalayah. She has been an excellent role model and mentor.”
Claremont - Mr. Mudd: “Forming bonds with and serving others in our educational community.”
Roosa - Mr. Crum: “I already have so many, from Mrs. Willard's dress-up ideas to silly things students and adults say and do. However, I absolutely loved the sleigh races up and down the halls at Christmastime.”

At Will Rogers Junior High students are exploring the world of sound waves in class, to put their knowledge to the test in a unique lab experience. Mr. Gregg brought his guitar to show the behaviors of sound waves on a guitar's string. This class activity not only showed them sound wave properties but also showed them the connection between science and music!🎼🦓📚

📚 THANK YOUR LIBRARIAN TODAY 📚
“A library is a good place to go when you feel unhappy, for there, in a book, you may find encouragement and comfort. A library is a good place to go when you feel bewildered or undecided, for there, in a book, you may have your question answered. Books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people - people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book." [Letters of Note; Troy (MI, USA) Public Library, 1971]
― E.B. White
It's National Librarians Day and we can't think of any better way to celebrate than to visit your school librarian and check out a book. I know they will have a recommendation for whatever world you want to go to in a good book.

Eli Fouse, a senior at Claremore High School, was drawn to music at a young age after being captivated by Lindsey Sterling's violin performance on PBS. Influenced by a diverse array of musicians including Hans Zimmer and Johnny Cash, Eli developed a deep passion for music.
Participating in choir has not only improved his confidence in singing but also honed his performance skills. Proficient in singing, violin, piano, and guitar, Eli's talents extend beyond music to trivia, particularly his expertise in dinosaurs. He actively engages in various extracurricular activities such as Jazz Choir, Academic Team, Dinosaur Club, Native American Student Association, Science Bowl Team, and D&D Club, while also finding time for personal hobbies like fishing, learning the Cherokee language, and playing video games. He also values community service, by volunteering at the Claremore Museum of History and at the Rogers County Cherokee Association.
Eli's high school achievements include multiple appearances in the All-District Choir, notable performances in academic competitions, and being recognized as the 2023 Academic Team Homecoming representative. Despite his plans to pursue degrees in Environmental Science and Paleontology, Eli intends to continue his musical journey by singing in college. His favorite memories revolve around the friendships and camaraderie forged through the music program at CHS, underscoring the profound impact of community in his artistic pursuits.💪🦓🎼🐱🐉 #cpszebrapride
