📝🔤 Engaging Vocabulary Learning in 2nd Grade! 🔤📝
In Ms. Collin's small group sessions, students are not only expanding their vocabularies but also honing important literacy skills. From putting words in alphabetical order to matching definitions with words and defining them, every activity is designed to make learning fun and interactive. It's wonderful to see our zebras actively engaged and excited about building their language skills! 📖 🎉🦓 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

For Read Across America week, our junior high art students drew the Cat in the Hat! That sounds like a fun and creative way to celebrate Read Across America Week! Dr. Seuss's "The Cat in the Hat" is such a classic children's book, and it's great to see students using their artistic skills to bring the story to life. ✏💘📚

Congratulations to Coach Mike Larimer on being inducted into the Oklahoma Tennis Coach Association Hall of Fame. A longtime coach and educator, Larimer has dedicated 28 years to coaching boys' and girls' tennis at the high school level in Oklahoma, with the last 23 years at Claremore.
He grew up in Ponca City, where he played various sports, but found his passion for tennis around age 12. During high school, he played for “Big Daddy” (Steve Larimer) at East Junior High before transitioning to varsity tennis, displaying skill despite tough competition. While attending the University of Oklahoma, he briefly pursued tennis but later shifted his career to teaching and coaching after House Bill 1017 was passed. His coaching career saw successes, including memorable moments such as having many Meto Lake Conference titles, Regional titles, numerous State placers, and All-Staters.
Throughout his years of coaching, his main goal was he wanted his players to play extremely hard, make no excuses, have some fun on the journey, keep it in the green, and represent Claremore with class. Despite his accolades, Larimer remains humble, attributing his success to his players and the friendships cultivated throughout his years of service in Oklahoma's high school tennis community. Congratulations, Coach Larimer!🎾🦓❤

Mrs. Newbury's Science classes at the Junior High are diving into the vibrant world of DNA with a tasty twist on learning!🧬🍭
They're using color coded gummy bears that represent the different base pairs as a way to construct their own strands of DNA! This is a fun and engaging way to visualize how the components of DNA fit together to create the building blocks of life. By mixing fun and learning, an enjoyable experience is created that helps students grasp concepts more effectively and stay involved in their education - fostering knowledge that will last a lifetime!💡 🧬 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Learning meets fun for Mrs. Harrison's students as they shoot for success with Trashketball! 🏀📚

Mr. Frazier loves visiting the schools and interacting with students, so when he received the opportunity to be a celebrity reader for Read Across America week, he was thrilled! He visited Roosa and Catalayah Elementary to read to some of our awesome students! 📚🦓
A school district superintendent who is present and engaged with students creates a significant impact on the district. Mr. Frazier's involvement within our schools fosters a sense of unity, accountability, and leadership in our educational community. Such visits not only demonstrate his commitment to the educational journey of every child but also creates a sense of unity and collaboration within our district. Here's to Mr. Frazier, who prioritizes connections and the well-being of every student in our district! 🎉🦓📕 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🦷✨ Claremont kindergartners had a special guest visit to share the importance of sparkling smiles and healthy habits!✨ 🦷
From brushing techniques to the benefits of flossing, our students got the inside scoop on maintaining top-notch dental hygiene. Not only does a healthy smile boost confidence, but research shows that good oral hygiene promotes overall well-being and enhances learning readiness. Big thanks to Maysa Sawney from the Eastern Oklahoma Dental Institute for spreading smiles and knowledge! 😁 🦓#CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our Read Across America week has ended, and we extend a huge thank you to all the guest readers from our community who volunteered their time to read our Dazzle of Zebras!
This experience builds excitement and sparks curiosity, imagination, and a love for reading within these young learners. Thank you to all who contributed to enriching our students' literacy journey in a fun way! ❤🦓#CPSZEBRAPRIDE
