What's cooking? Well in Mrs. Boyd's Science class, SMORES! They created solar ovens by using all types of boxes- pizza, shoes, candy, or anything else they could find. They used aluminum inside where the s'more went into the "sun-over" to cook. Tasty and educational!🍫☀🔥 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

At Catalayah, Mrs. Newman's Kindergarteners had a beary exciting week! They learned all about different kinds of bears and their habitats! To end the week, students brought their own furry friends from home to finish the lesson. They had a paw-some time with their fuzzy friends and enjoyed learning about all things bear, real and stuffed!🐻🧸💓 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Cooking with Classen!🧈🍞 Westie students in Mrs. Classen’s class are learning all about the farm. These lucky students then got to make their very own butter from scratch! Let’s welcome Ms. Allie Dooley back to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature! Ms. Dooley is a 6th-grade science teacher and Claremore alum! She graduated from CHS in 2017 and chose CPS to start her teaching career! While in school she was a cheerleader from 6th grade - 12th grade. She graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelors in Science, and was a Delta Zeta! When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “I chose to teach at CPS because I loved it so much when I was a student here! I loved being a zebra and feel like I got the best education possible. I knew that my teachers truly cared for me and wanted me to succeed, and I want to be able to do that for my students! I just moved back to Claremore for the first time in 6 years, so I’m excited to get more involved in the community! ” She chose teaching because “I want to share my love for my subject with my students. At an early age, having teachers here at CPS who were passionate about their chosen subjects made class and learning much more enjoyable and fun! I think it’s so important for students to understand and appreciate science because the whole world around us is made up of it!” Ms. Dooley enjoys anything outdoors, whether hiking, golf, camping, gardening or even walking on a nice day. She also loves crafting and making things for others! She has been to 30 states and plans to check the last 20 off her list. 🌟 Empowering Girls in Science! 🌟 Junior high students joined Mrs. Rahn for 'Women in Science' Day at the Oklahoma Science Museum in OKC. Our students had a hands-on day, exploring the wonders of science, and celebrating the possibilities of women in STEM. Mrs. Rahn also secured a $2,000 grant from the Women’s Energy Network for our Girls’ STEM Program. An inspiring day of possibilities! 🔬💪 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE #STEMGirls #ScienceEmpowerment

Let’s welcome Mr. Zachary Noland back to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature!♥🦓📚 Mr. Zachary Noland is the AP English III and sophomore English teacher at Claremore High School. He graduated from Claremore High School in 2017 and chose to return to his roots to start his high school teaching career! He has a Bachelor's in Music Composition from the University of Tulsa and a Master's in Music Composition from Illinois State University. When asked what he likes about Claremore Public Schools best, he said, “I love the strong community built around students! As a graduate of CHS myself, I've always appreciated the support both teachers, administration, and student community offered.” He chose teaching because “My favorite moment is that "Aha!" students get when they finally understand something. It's one thing to teach a student, but it's even better when they realize their capabilities to learn and grow!” Mr. Noland enjoys jazz and classical music, TTRPGs, video games, reading, and writing! He has won numerous awards and honors in Music Composition, as well as being on the President and Dean’s Honor Roll during his time at TU, 2018-2021. Fun Facts - He has performed in Jazz Ensembles featuring Tim Ries (Rolling Stones), Walter White, and Donny McCaslin (performed on David Bowie's last album). In addition, he has met composers such as Bright Sheng (one of Leonard Bernstein's students), Missy Mazzoli, and Melinda Wagner (Julliard School of Music). Dressed to impress and sporting creative costumes they had a spooktacular time while also contributing to the food bank at CHS! Let’s welcome Ms. Kendall Fudge to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature!♥🦓 Ms. Fudge is a 7th & 8th-grade English teacher at Will Rogers Junior High. She graduated from Roger State University with a Bachelors in Business Administration. She was an RSU student-athlete and spent three and a half years as a member of the RSU Dance Team. She was on the UDA Nationals Team, where she traveled to Orlando, FL, and competed at the ESPN Sports Complex! This is her first year teaching, and she chose to start her teaching career here at CPS. When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “I have not had the privilege to experience anything at CPS yet, but I am so excited to get to know the students and staff members. Claremore has a strong community culture, and I firmly believe that the school system plays a massive role.” She chose teaching because “I am very passionate about ensuring that the next generation has a safe and welcoming environment to learn and grow.
