Let’s welcome Ms. Kendall Fudge to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature!♥🦓 Ms. Fudge is a 7th & 8th-grade English teacher at Will Rogers Junior High. She graduated from Roger State University with a Bachelors in Business Administration. She was an RSU student-athlete and spent three and a half years as a member of the RSU Dance Team. She was on the UDA Nationals Team, where she traveled to Orlando, FL, and competed at the ESPN Sports Complex! This is her first year teaching, and she chose to start her teaching career here at CPS. When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “I have not had the privilege to experience anything at CPS yet, but I am so excited to get to know the students and staff members. Claremore has a strong community culture, and I firmly believe that the school system plays a massive role.” She chose teaching because “I am very passionate about ensuring that the next generation has a safe and welcoming environment to learn and grow. Let’s welcome Ms. Julia Loyd to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature!🦓❤ Ms. Loyd is a 1st-grade teacher at Catalayah Elementary. She has taught for 3 years, and this is her first year at CPS. When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “they have a positive outlook on teaching and strive to help those struggling.” She chose teaching because “I have a passion for reading. I love encouraging students in their reading journey because having a love of reading will take them far in life.” Ms. Loyd enjoys reading, traveling and hiking with her dog, kayaking, camping, laying out by the pool, watching great TV shows, and hanging out with friends and family. She has 2 cats, Ollie & Zora, I have a German Shepherd, Darcy. Fall is here, and Catalayah students are having a pumpkin-tastic time! 🎃🍂 Catalayah's little pumpkins are as sweet as pie and digging into fall activities! Mrs. Griffin has been teaching her WIN group all about Pumpkins over the last couple of weeks. They learned about the life cycle of pumpkins and what you can make with pumpkins! She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Science in education. When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “the welcoming and caring atmosphere.” She chose teaching because “I love being a part of their learning adventure, and I want to help as many students as possible to love learning. I want to help students gain self-confidence and know that their teacher believes in them!” Mrs. Barbee and her husband, Bear, have 4 children and a dog named Millie. Mrs. Barbee enjoys spending time with my family, making crafts, coloring, cooking, and baking! She graduated from Pitt State University with a BSED in English. This is her 25th year teaching, but her first with CPS! When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “CPS feels friendly, supportive, and inviting.” She chose teaching and CPS because she felt it was a calling from God in her life! Mrs. Highley and her husband, Jeff, have a daughter, Dacee, and two dogs. Mrs. Highley enjoys reading, puzzles, spending time with family and friends, binge-watching TV and movies, writing, gardening, and learning new things! She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Music Education and her Masters in Music from the University of Missouri. This is her 12th year teaching but her first with CPS! When asked what she likes about Claremore Public Schools best, she said, “The family atmosphere. Everyone I have met has been warm, welcoming, and obviously all in for student progress and success. CPS is the district I want my daughters to attend.” She chose teaching “to inspire lifelong learning for students through music education.” Mrs. Ayers enjoys cycling, spending time with her family, and watching the Tour de France yearly! Let’s welcome Coach Taylor Davis back to the Zebra family in today’s New Teacher Feature! Mr. Taylor Davis is a physical science teacher at Claremore High School and an assistant baseball coach. He is a Claremore alum from 2018 and graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in biology. This is his first year teaching! When asked what he likes about Claremore Public Schools best, he said, “CPS is home for me. My mom taught first grade here at CPS for 29 years. So, I was raised in CPS. I love the people here, and I believe there’s no other school district in Oklahoma like Claremore.” He chose teaching because “The impact I can have on all the different students from all different backgrounds. Like so many of the teachers before me have done.” Coach Davis enjoys sports, outdoor photography, and time with family! He has a black Labrador named Baker (Boomer Sooner)! Fun fact, he is red and green colorblind.
